The dish newbie guide will likely answer most of your questions. It did for me. Then go from there. In terms of longjevity and dependability, I don't think anything can beat a nozkt (dtv) reciever with a good activation script. However, I have yet to get my first Dish net system up and running. (I still need a digilock) Darnat and chapster99 are who you want to talk to about d/n stuff. It's safe on the other side...give it a try.
