It works with 6-12 Volt power supplies (7.5V is the best) AC or DC, polarity whatever. It comes preflashed so there is no need to flash it. You need a 9 pin serial cable to connect it to the PC

You shouldn't have any problems with your OS.... Make sure you've got all the essential software and support files.... You should be all set....
