I just got Adelphia high speed with out cable. it has a filter to block the tv signal. Is there a filter that I can get to replace it that would appear similar to the existing one that would pass the signal?

Thanks

i have the same situation, different provider. i dont have access to the filter though. i was wondering if there is someting that i can do to my side that would widen the band-pass freq range. such as raising (or lowering) the load resistance, adding a coil, etc.

When I still had cable, I replaced my filters with a male2male connector I got from radioshack.

I can bypass it pretty easy. I want something that looks like the original filter so if they drive by they won't know the difference.

At the time, my neighbour just ran a piece of coax across 2 lawns and a sidewalk to the cablebox. His connection lasted 8 months - they don't really pay attention. One day he came home and his 100ft cable was sitting in a pile on his porch... Cut into 1" segments.

Guys,

Just drill out the center of the filter and use the outter casing as a decoy. Just add a copper wire and ground to pass the signal. If they pass by, they will not be able to tell the difference because they will think that you still have the original filter. Just be careful you don't mess up the casing when drilling. You have to be a bit delicate when doing this job. Good luck...

I tried to take thge filter apart with out any luck. They sure are not customer friendly!
My same thoughts about drilling out the center and running a center conductor. I did that on our first appartment and it lasted 2 years and was still going when we moved.
I just didn't want something so obvious that was tampered with.

well u could be like me.................just happend to have a bad cable end, so i took it upon myself to change the end. but somhow i left the center lead about 3-4 inches to long. i must have been stoned and forgot to trim it down after replacing the end so apparently but no not to my knowlage was it connecting all the way through to the other side......oops reasonable mistake i wont do it again, please i diddnt mean it.
