Well, I guess I was right…..as what I mentioned earlier the first week of June 2006 in several satellite forums - that three months ago (sometime in April), I was told/warned by a close friend of mine who runs his on Satellite Company, and contracts with Dish Network and Direct TV – that “June 2006” will be “D-Day” (or “Black June”) or whatever you wish to call-it for ALL FTA Satellite Receivers, due to the fact that Dish Network has hired several “hackers” to work for them to combat satellite piracy. I did post it here…..but everyone blew-it-off” (so-to-speak). But I guess I am right, until a “scripter/coder” proves me wrong with a VALID work LASTING fix. And as I will state again, “We should not put all of our eggs into one basket”…..we need alternative “script writers”, as back-ups, or we end-up with situations such as the one we are currently involved in. NO, television….except BEV…..and it’s just a matter of time, before that down to. So I guess we will resort to “paying service” once again, until something new comes out.

And by the way....the "FAT LADY" has sung....and you have seen her if you watched this past season of FOX Broadcast of "American Idol"….she song VERY loudly. (thank-you):cool:

Bullshit. Security patches come from Nagravison. The provider just runs them and modifies them if needed.

That would be great if it were true, hackers and coders working for the provider...we would have free TV forever! Do you realize how many hackers and coders are actively working on the solution to regain free TV? To most of them, its not the idea that the hackers and coders really care about watching much TV, its the challenge to know you are the best, better than the providers crew. Its about winning the game.

Now with that said, I will give you the shadow of doubt that its possible that you gained some inside information from some dealer that is in the know, and knew that June was going to be the completion date. That is as far as I can believe you.

his post may have had some errors however the concept is correct. if dish can continue to force us all into plastic only they control the game. there are only x amount of cards out there and no more to be produced. without arm/rom/fta we have no alternatives. as mili stated earlier we are at this point sheep gathered to the slaughter. each day i log on and hope to hell there is an fta fix, and i don't test fta. without an fta fix we are in some serious trouble, especially if there is no unlooper for dish/bev cards. flame me if you want, call me a doom and gloom freak, but damnit we need an fta fix or an unlooper.

DN advertises 365/24/7 on local channels nationwide, so what do you mean that no more cards will be produced? Are all new irds cardless???

I think that there is just too much old hardware out there, for sure 10x's are still being made but who can say for sure? When the MPEG upgrade comes along, is DN going to give away free irds to say 30% of their subs??

by that i mean there are x amout of 102/103 out there. we know we have compromised them. can newer cards be hacked? who knows? can directv be hacked, not to this point. so we deal with what we have. you are correct, lots of old hardware out there, but is all needs a card at this point. without fta/arm/rom 102/103 prices are going through the roof as the fta guys go plastic. what happens then if 30 days from now dish/bev sends the killer ecm. bam! a good portion of the cards are looped and unusable (still have any rom3 with a looped atr?) now what? no fta. would you pay $500 for a card? $600? because we could see that kind of pricing. as far as dish giving away new receivers ... they won't have to for quite some time if they can execute their plan. after the loop the majority of of subbed 102/103 will be in the hands of legal unaware of satellite hacking customers hands. they can in effect jsut wait till many of these upgrade to pvr or just go by the wayside. a card swap is not necessary if they can keep the fta guys out of the market and thtey can loop 70% of the cards out there. the point here is we want the fta coders to come up with a fix in the worst way. if not that then we had all better pray for an unlooper, or that no1 or penga or whoever the hell else is the newest and best coder comes up with a piggy back board becasue as it stands right now we are all sitting ducks.

I never claimed I knew anything, well except with and SD card is... lol... Although I'm pretty sure you've got some issues.. Little man issues if you need to come post "I told you so" like this".

My rom 102's are working just fine ;) I hope there is never a fix for FTA receivers so there are fewer people like this guy in this hobby.

Man just close this thread before it numbs other peoples minds too.
