cutting traces???

I'm trying to mod my t911, but when i cut the first trace, I'm still reading current between the two points the trace connects whichin this case are: pin1 of 74hc00, and the component at "c4". I cut down deep on the trace, damn near through the board, but still get current. Could it be that those two points are connected through another path?

yes, i removed it. When I cut the other traces, the amount of resistance went way up, so i'm guessing i got the trace cut correctly.
