View Full Version : Need help getting rid of a Trojan
I have a trojan in my computer that causes it to sortof reset itself every minuite or so. I will be typing and the little hour glass comes on and I have to click on the screen to continue. I have virus protection and it is up tp date. I did a scan at "Stopsign" .com and it says I have 2 of them, the first called "Trojan.click.1255" and the other is "Trojan.startpage.1505" I really don't want to spend money on an additional virus prot. pkg.
Does anyone have a clue on what to do?
Thanks in advance

try booting up in safemode with networking, (press F8 when computer boots). Download something like Avast antivirus or windows defender (both free) to get rid of them.
Thanks DrAnO, I will try it

Ad-Aware and Spybot also free. I fix OP computers every day. Be careful about free scans stopsign is OK most aren't. Zone alarm has a great free firewall and worth every dollar if you buy the Pro. version. AVG for free antivirus.

Download and install Ewido free software. Open up in safe mode and run Ewido.
Should clear Trojans.

Try this web site. they have a lot of great info. They have a program that is called hijack this that will tell you what you have on your computer. You also can post the results and they will help you. xxx.Merijn.org
Also don't forget adware and spybot.

Also can go to Symantec and type in the trojan and alot of times you can find removal tools or do a google search of the trojan. I did this with one and found help that way.
