View Full Version : 311 & Atmega
:D :D :D well I just screwed my 1st 311....I did all the mods and unlocked @ 283....I programmed it with romcode and all werked well.....then I had to remove my interface wich was soldered on.....I went ahead and ran some wires to a special plug outside the box for easy access...thats when all hell broke loose and the ird said there was a bad conn. inside somewhere..(would not see the cam )...I though SHIT I just lost a credit a card and an ird.....well after many attempts to find this so called bad conn. I gave up thinking the break was under the ic/cam....so I went ahead and removed it (ic/cam) from the ird and took an atmega board to solder on the ic/cam to it.....werked AWSOME....I found it easier to remove the ic/cam and do this instead of trying to cut traces and resoldering them...but in the process you loose an ird so my next one I will be more carefull...I'm so Happy I just thought I would share this with everyone considering this may of happened to others.......:D :D :D also it is great if these 311 get ecm'd

Why did you lose the IRD, you can wire the card slot to the cam connectins and you good to go.
now I will try to get this Atmega back into this ird....
yes that s what I was thinkin too :)
hope it gets rid of all this bad connection BS
cool now I have a 311 with a card....:)

ZIM now you had the chip out of the box was threr any name or numbers on it to try and find the maker of it be nice to put these`s ice scrapers back to work

well the cam # on top and on the bottom of the chip there is a little silver triangle which points to the notch on the chip...I'm guessing pin 1.......or are u askin about pin layout #'s?
I also found that my 3.68 crystal will not read the internal cam while in the box..I had to switch to 3.57 and good to go...but now that the cam is removed completly from the ird....it will read with the 3.68...weird, must have something to do with the few resistors left when in the ird....

The maker is NagraStar/Nagravision. Minimum purchase is 1 million units. Care to get some? Oh, by the way, you have to provide your own operating system as the one on the 311/811 is proprietary to Echostar Communications.
