3 problem receivers all RCA 420's.
First one is a person's attempt to nozkt and the eprom got written over with a flash.......... I have attempted to fix this by manually editing eprom- then cloning from another eprom(this worked for about two weeks then sound faded out to very low volume.
Second is a previously subbed ird that the power light will flash when you plug it in, and it will take the nozkt flashing but the ird will not come one with remote or by the top pwr button.
Third is ird that reportedly lightening or something happened during storm and no pwr on now. My guess it may have taken out resistor @ postion R14110 and component at position at Q 14100 beside the resisitor. (maybe its voltage reg or transistor plz see pic)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Grumpy
Receiver1&2:
Reflash the eeproms
Receiver3:
This is common and usually the large cap 100uf 200v is the cause.
Replace it and the the resistor.

Okay,
How about this one.
I have a 420RE that powers up. Then "please insert your access card" appears. I insert the access card and the "please insert your access card" remains. Note it does not say "Insert a valid access card" (ivac)
I've reflashed the TSOP and no change.
The card slot appears to be okay.
Any ideas or explanations.
Thanks.

Hi Kim
This one sounds like the normally closed switch of the card socket is bent back and inserting the card won't open it.
