Pansat to get new card readers..
Within the next 2 weeks there will be new card reader options for ALL popular Pansat models. Those that do NOT have provisions for an internal reader are also supposed to be included. These units will require an external card reader that attach's via the RS232C serial port and will allow people to receive Irdeto2 with a valid sub. FreeXTV packages will be offered by Pansat to enhance your viewing pleasure.
Models reported to get support for the external reader option include the following;
Pansat 2300
Pansat 1500 & 2500
Pansat 2700
Support is the name of the game here, and it sure looks good for Pansat owners

Who said pansat is releasing anything the xcrypt device has been out for over a year and you pay for 6mo. viewing pleasure. And if somebody comes a long and mods the software who's to say it can't be done with a rom102. There is a fine line between legal and not legal when it comes to fta.:eek:

Well i don't think so, a simple cmd is enough to kill the map call on the aux card....I would guess fta will have a lot of downtime.....

Agreed that the map function on hacked 102's can easily be permanently disabled by Charlie using a simple command, but can't the receiver be programmed not to pass along any offensive commands to the 102?

Its old news. The external card readers for Pansats have been around for over a year, just like the information in this thread.

True, external card readers for Pansats is old news; but the new news is the release of that future bin that will pair them with rom102 card. I really think this is horrible develop for testing. There is NOT enough unlocked rom102 card for sale around to get the ten of thousands fta receivers up and running. Places where alot of money is begining exchange in society's underground, criminals and scam artists are going to be attacted; many normally law-abiding citizens are going to get hurt. People if you do not have an testable rom102; please get the legal way. Go to auction sites, flea markets, trift stores, pawn shops, and yard sales to find one.

Coolsat stated in a recent release that no information from the stream goes to the card making it somewhat unvulnerable. BS? maybe....maybe not!
