Where can I find the instructions on using the passive interface card with a 322 receiver with internal ROM 103? I had no problem finding it on the 311.

Here's one way I did it, but I have since figured out how to do it all on the topside. I'll try and get a pic of that here soon. I had to put a switch between leg 14 of U27 that has to be lifted to be able to read and write after unlocking.

lightning0009,
Could you please share your topside method? I have a couple of these units and I am thinking of giving it a try.

Ok, here is the pic of the way to hook the clock and reset on the topside. On that one pin after you unlock it I use a jumper to unjump it to read and write. So only that one pin has to be unsoldered and pushed up and then I solder it to one leg of the jumper block and the other leg to jump to then goes to the reset pin on the header like the puple line shows, then for operation you put a jumper on those two pins and to read and write you have to take the jumper off. Clock is hooked to the R sided of R391 and that resistor I move out of the way to unlock and then put back after unlocking.

Lighting ..... I have attached the 322 I have done.
the only different on this 322 the resister R393 that is
on yours mine has R410 I have done similar cuts and lifted the pins
and I can't get to read to a Good ATR...
I have done as folows
cut the VCC trace
cut between C923 and R410
lifted R391
cut trace at pin #11 for reset
and cut trace at pin #8
and I did not have lift pins at U27
See image.....
any suggestions why mine IRD will not read
I get No ATR Error I have not even gltich yet..
I do belive the board I have might be different
and needs to be wire different
one the first one dice.. so I took
the second Ird did the same setup
and second IRD does the same
I'm using to read Nedi2.0 and 2.57 ver
I get both NO atr.
SO I rewire the IRD back
and it will search for satellite..
I do not get Internal problems........
If you have suggestion
your help will be appeciated..
By now you should have found something new..
or a newer IRD

Connect clock to R side of R391 if you removed that resistor. Also lift R410.

a question for lightning:
i prefer not to do the whole jumper thing, if possible. if i follow your schematic for doing the topside and bottomside mods, is there anything i have to change, reconnect, or resolder after i unlock? do i have to repair trace cuts at any point?

yes!
all traces need to be reconnected.
but the I_cam needs to be programmen before you
resolder the traces cut.
and from I understand a switch nees to be installed
in the reset wire in order to reprogrammend in the future.

i used an old dipswitch mounted on a rad shack universal pc board to reconnect all 4 traces that i cut.also they sell a fine gauge wire (its called wire-wrap wire).
it works great soldering to the IRD's small soldering points.
i just used the topside method, glitched it-prgmmd it with Dip Sw.1,2,3,4 off.
then put sw1,2,3,4 back on before hooking it up.
i am really impressed with the 322 so far.
it's a little more work(322) but worth the effort cause you end up with 2 recievers in 1 box.
if you have remote control problems for tv2-run a cable to relocate the remote antenna for room tv2.
i mounted tv2 antenna to a surge protector that has cable connector's built in it plugged in the wall behind tv2.
no more remote control problems
