View Full Version : Why is it so important to save your bin?

I have purchased one of Mili unlocked rom102's. I have read in quite a few places on this site to save the bin right of way and in a couple of places to be sure. I did this, the card I got had Rev. 108. Anyway, why is this so critical when there are virgin bin's floating around all over the place. I used one of these virgin bins at 103 instead of the one that was on the card and it works just fine in my receiver. I there something special about the one that comes with the card or what difference does it make? I have used both and don't see any difference exept that the bin the came with the card has no OA DT08 so I had use gendt08 to create one. I am sure I am missing something because although I can use the card in the receiver with no problems (all channels open) I can't get dvb cardsharing to work. Always get checksum wrong errors.
Thanks

i'll add to that....save everything every step of the way....you'll be pleasently surprised when a saved bin comes in handy three months (or 10 minutes) down the road.....trust me it happens.....especially if you want to clone something that worked or heaven forbid lock, yourself out of a cam...about every 6mos i snarf around and delete some saved stuff i know i won't use again...just can't bring myself to delete mili's rom 3 blocker file though...call me sentimental.... *tears*.....*sniff*......that was one good blocker.....someone pass me a hankie....*uncontrolable sobbing*.......we'll never see one of those again...RIP ROM3
seriously, if you are comfortable not saving-> fill your boots..... for the cautious, it is definitely the way to go.....
