modded sureshot suggested ohms

I have a modded sureshot. I have tried smitty's and new.vbw. Both only give "---------------", never a "+" or "noresponse". (Well, it did say "noresponse" once, and only once.) My rom102 is at rev 103. I believe it's my pot. It will only go down to around 350-400 ohms, then it starts over at around 5k ohms. Anyone have any success with the hu sureshot? If so, what ohm setting did you have your pot at? Thanks in advance.

Is there only 2 legs of the pot connected to board? Only 2 are needed. aside from that I would replace it untill you have pot working from 0 - what ever 5K = 5000. Also only check OHMs without power to loader. If OHMs are jumping around pot may be bad.
