Help Me Stop Unwanted Web Page Please

Your help is appreciated. When I go online (ie6) and try to connect to Wells Fargo Bank's web page to do my banking, the page is redirected to another page trying to sell insurance. I simply cannot get to Wells Fargo no matter what I try. Soooooooo, I went to Office Depot and used their public computers and had no problem. How can I stop Wells Fargo web page from being redirected to another web page?

Download a program called Hijack This and scan your PC. It should find the culprit that is causeing the re-direction.

make sure you are going directly to the wells fargo page you want to go to.
Alot of web server companies bought domain names that are close to the real ones. Like I try to go to galottery.com and I misspell it like galotery.com it brings me to a entirely different site advertising things.

and if you use the hijack this program please be sure you read the howot and be carelful and always use the back up option on it. It works very well for browser hijacks

Download the latest IE7 beta, it is pretty stable and has a built in Phishing filter, which checks each page before it displays it and warns if it is a fake.

I also suggest you download the following programs Spybot Search and Destroy, Adware S.E, CWS Shredder, Trojan Hunter trial version and Windows Defender. Install and update them to the latest version and do the following:-

Restart your computer and press F6 and boot into to safe mode with networking and run both of the above programs. Then I suggest you visit various Antivirus sites and do a full scan.
