Gents,
Can you give me a little knowledge here?

I would like to set up for Globecast (and ultimately Setanta USA) and I have the following questions:

I understand all of the basics of the dish type, etc, however would you recommend a "slam dunk" solution in terms of brands/models for the 30"/33"/36" dish and linear LNBF? I am located mid-atlantic east coast if that helps you size my dish.

I have read up quite a bit on the difficulties of getting IA5 aligned correctly, and would appreciate your advice on whether a certain brand LNBF works better (0.3dB vs 0.4dB, for example). I do not need a motor assy etc, I will keep the dish trained on IA5.

FTA will be Viewsat Platinum. Eventually I'd like to test out Setanta USA but I'm a ways away from trying that. See any other issues with the FTA box?

Thanks
ps
Sorry mate but I'm with L'pool. :)
Gerrard would have made a fine skipper for the Three Lions. Alas...

Hi, setanta sports free on amazonas 61w .

11972 v 13021 ........enjoy:cool: Can a regular Dish 61.5 dish be used with an fta receiver or do I need a large dish.
Also, is their a way to get CNN Europe via FTA.

I'd consider getting a package from Globecast. $180. I'm prety sure it is a fairly std FTA receiver you get. Plus the option of subscribing.
There's very little interest in Setanta Sports and realistically the subscription may the only option.

Sorry mate but I'm with L'pool. :)

I'm looking forward to seeing how much Bellamy can make Liverpool players dislike him now.

LyngSat sat is woefully behind. well...in the sense that the monitors watch how long the transmission will be available before making a permanent entry at the site. When you scan the freq above on Ku Band; the title of the network will come in as " HD-SPORTS. This is FTA; this stuff can dissapear by tomorrow!

Unfortunately no.

That entire network (HDTV) has been barred by the US Feds from transmitting to North America (USA) at least! For most of the year; they did carry Setanta transmissions Free-To-Air on the 61* bird.
Why censor transmissions? Some kinda indictments of supporting 'terrorism' related to Al-Manar transmissions. Don't know?..please Google it.
The network has finally been delisted from LyngSat much to my dissapointment. Miss 'BlackBelt TV'

If it(the network) pops up again on another sat; you can guarantee it will be a Ku Band with 10750 LNB to receive in North America w/ a 3o" dish or better! Maybe broadcasting Setanta.

The way to get Setanta is to subscribe to ITVN . Setamta Sports is available on ITVN if you have an Internet High Speed connection. The cost is $15 per month but they include the cable box if you subscribe for one year. I just hooked mine two months ago ( I live in canada) and it works fine although the picture qual;ity is not great... but I have seen a number of EPL games that would otherwise not have been available.
