If 311 chip or receiver got hit

It may be stupid question but just qurious. If they hit cards, does it make any difference for 311 chip than rom 102. What are the options for 311 receiver ECM hit.

if they hit cards they hit cards.
now if they hit the receiver theres no way to j tag it yet so the reciever would be no good.

the chip is the card the interface card is just there so you can program the chip

If dish had 1/2 a brain they would do some old school ECM's such as wide PPV strings, Since many IRD's can't be jtaged. That would really cause some damage.

I almost with they did, it would push the hardware gurus to get working on jtaging these newer IRD's, which would be great. I really doubt that’s why dish has not done these attacks. I really don't know what their hold up is. Some people say they are setting us up for a big loop, I doubt that if they are not even doing smaller less risky ECM's. I think they are very cautious and it's really Nagravision running the show more so than dish and they will probably do as little as they can get away with. If they damage legit cams with an ECM, especially now that there are cardless IRD’s that could mean big bucks. Nagravision makes money selling new cards not securing old ones. With that as a principal a card swap would be a more likely course of action then ECM’s. But then again, maybe Dish has a contract now that makes Nagravision foot the bill for a cardswap due to compromised cams. With that as a theory loops and ECM’s would be more likely.. Now with Viewsats new break though things are going to get interesting again. Bottom line is anything can happen and it’s impossible to predict. Well unless you work in SI at Dish Network. Heh

Once they ECM the IRD...there will be a junkyard fix out fast as wire's can be crossed...LoL...Big thing will be that if they loop card's----chip's...one will simply have to pull the chip amd wire the card slot. hence use a 102--103
