well number one don't go from the top use the bottom and make sure your j-tag is facing the right way if it's backwards it won't work hope this helps

well I am not sure about that I have only used a bufferd j-tag and I have had no problems have you ever used that j-tag on your ird before and have it work?

A "DCU Peek" error almost always means a bad ground connection or some other problem with the jtag interface

Darnat is there a way to unlock my 4500 ird I no there is no j-tag port but is there anything I can do I fixed my 2700 and 3100 but don't no how to get my 4500 unlocked I used a volt meter to get my boxx keys from the 4500 but can't figur out how to change the location id from 00000000000001 any idea?

Try connecting it to the actual chassis and make sure you have the correct placement of the wires to pads!

You could try on a different computer! If you have jtag'ed from it before it should be good. I know my hewlett " pack of crap " can not get the job done. I kept getting an " error reading from ird DCU peek". Good luck.

Gord, you can reset the location ID doing the 'Junkyard fix'.

yes... you are actually supposed to use JKEYS with the power to the IRD off (and plugged in of course).. Sometimes I have found that JKEYS gives me errors when the IRD power is ON.
If you had a bad write... you can erase and rewrite again...
Hopefully the image you dumped off the get go was a good one.. Did you do more than one dump and compare the two?
If you have a bad dump you will be looking for a valid TSOP image for your receiver.. I have not had to do this yet so I can't help you here..
