Hi,
I have a Nagra 1 card of my local provider which I want to read.
The card is ROM10 RevA16.
I'd like to read it with nagraedit 4.1 but I'm afraid it might get marked or looped, and this is the only card I've got.
I'd appreciate any advice about how to read (or at least try to read) the card without risking it being marked.
Note: This is not a dish/bev card, but my local cable provider's. As far as I know, I'm the first one trying to read their cards.

Thanks!

You should have read more carefully-- the man is investigating a local service and was looking for tools to work with it.

Unfortunately, all of the old utilities for the earlier card have been removed from the file library in favor of the newer software, which will probably not work with the old cards.

First off, I`m not familiar with your local provider. However a Rom10 revA16 is an open card and I ASSUME you would be able to read and save your bin with no problem, but you will have to decide yourself since you are the first tester. Good luck.

I don't deny that I'm a newbie, but still I'm 100% sure this is Nagra 1 I'm talking about, both from the ATR and from the fact that this card - which by the way is still subbed and working - was issued to me almost 5 years ago and never replaced since.
rob24_365 - Even if the software is no longer posted here I'd be glad to get names and how to use it.
Someone told me a new way was found to use the 03 backdoor - it doesn't work if the card is locked but at least it doesn't get the card marked. Unfortunately since Nagra 1 was already pretty obsolete, it never found its way into nagraedit - any of you knows anything about this?

you can still read the card with any iso programmer because if it is rev A16 it is open and readable with a iso

Me777 - Yeah so I'm told, but still, you've got to remember this is not a card of a well-known provider, and that it is still subbed and receives daily updates.
The fact that dish/bev have decided to upgrade the revision when they introduced security to the card, does not necesarily mean that anyone else also did.

You mentioned in the original message that your service provider is Cable, but your english and grammar is perfect. I don't know of any Cable Company that uses plastic in N.America.

Perhaps there is, but curious as why would they bother. Obviously, no one here can provide you with the info you need. As for the old N1 programmes, do a search or for sure someone reading this still has them on their hard drive.

Trying to remember back to N1 which I never did but remember if you didn't include PPV tiers the chance of getting marked was almost neglible. I'll take a look for an old N1 (which is around in a drawer somewhere) and would be more than glad to mail it to you.

I'm not the only one here with an N1 ice scraper, you may end up with a 100 to experiment with! ;-)

NagraEdit4.1.exe is for Rom 10 and should still be available.
