I'm having trouble finding good software to turn my PVR captures into DVD's. I have a PVR card in my computer and sometimes I let it run too long, and end up recording 8 or 12 hour blocks. I have yet to find software that will let me crop these large blocks into burnable chunks that will fit on one DVD. All I need the software I'm looking for to do is let me crop and burn. My PVR records programs in mpeg format. (by cropping I mean select where to start and stop "recording") Ulead, Roxio, Sonic and DVD shrink won't let me work with such large files as far as I can tell. Can someone point me in the right direction please. Maybe even upload a cracked copy of what I need to megaupload or the like? I'd sure appreciate it. Maybe I just havn't figured out how to work with what I already have so maybe I just need a little tutorial. Any help will be most appreciated.

Thanks for any help guys.

Any SONIC pre paced with DVD burners is good for that.
It is free other they do sell them.
it came with "show Time" which let you load any kind of file VOB. MPEG, .AVI
you cut them cut commercials out. and save them as any kind of file that you want.

I tape super bowl it is in .AVI (windows) it is 5+ hours and (.AVI is the biggest movie gig hog on record)
load in "show Time" delete all the commercials (and the half time in some of them)
convert it to DVD and burn it.
(Jackson was more popular the the game the day she did the stip tease)

Videoredo is pretty easy and works good for cutting up commericals and anything else you might want. Then use dvdlabpro to convert to dvd format. These programs let you add DD sound to your movie. I'm not sure if sonic lets you do this, I'm sure it does if it lets you play with VOB files.

SONIC is a editing studio, make slo motion, add light, titles, replacer audio, and it makes Meg for DVD than switches over to "MY DVD" to make you a DVD

Plain or fancy in 10 minuets you will be up and runs, no fancy institutions need, it run it self

What brand of PVR card do you have? If it is a hauppauge, then you can download an editor from the hauppauge site that allows you to chop up an mpg file any way you like. You can edit out commercials or chop up your mpg files into bite sized chunks. It only works if you have a hauppauge video capture device installed at the time you execute the app. It is called NanoPEG Editor.
They have a commercial version too but I have not searched for a crack for it yet since I have a hauppauge card and don't need it.

Good luck.

Thank you Ohms! I'll give it a shot. I already have versions of everything that's been mentioned so far.

My card is a Hauppauge, and I'd recomend it to anyone. It kicks the shit out of any Echostar PVR as I have my DVD player, VCR, Dish and Bell all piped into it, and I have almost 1000 gigs of storage on my HD's.

Why not try Roxio 7.5 with keygen?

It does avi, divx, and xvid to dvd.

Goodluck

Holy lost mod Batman! Look who shows up just when you need him.:p Thanks mdeven, and very nice to see you on the forums. ;) Thanks for the link. The nanopeg editor will let me work with the huge files, cropping them like I need. Still need a good mpeg to VOB burner though. Havn't been messing with it much, but it looks like I have all I need. Just need to put some time in a figure out how to make it all work.

Mark. I can't believe my eyes. Been a long time man. Glad to see you posting. You gonna stick around? That would be nice. Mili could use a strong MOD like you and Chief were are right about now.

JT, I edit with nanopeg and then convert to vob with nero. Works great bro.

Thanks Ghost, but I wasn't recalled to service.... I stopped in to see what was going on with some old friends....
Based on the comments I've been seeing, I think I will stick around for a bit....

I use Nero to burn my DVD's. However, sometimes I download movies in mpeg or .avi format and nero cannot handle these type of files. I've read thru this thread and saw the many suggested programs for JT's issue. Which one of these programs can I use to convert files to DVD format and hence burn to DVD using Nero? Thanks

I use virtual dub, very easy to use, and can handle anything.

I know you are "suppose" to pay for the unlock, but there are ways around it...
