There is a fine line between using a a DVD in those area.
.
1.
.
Use a DVD to stored you fails upon.
a DVD can stores you files on. I agree On DVD you can't run certain programs on it. (nagramaster)
================================================== =======
2.
.
Using the DVD as a 'phantom' hard drive "DMA"
YOU can use the 'phantom' hard drive programs that need to be installed like nagramaster, N2Edit and winexEither (IT a hard drive)
These program registry don't say what the are it Wald take a good computer expert to know that the are there, and have to been looking for them. but the will be there will still be some info left in your registry, just use a good cleaner after your done with the programs.
.

.
If you are REALLY, REALLY worried about total security
1. Buy a new hard drive.
2. Format you old hard drive, installing you programmers on the on the (NOT YOU DDS FILES)
------
3. Format you new hard drive, place the windows on it. put the DSS files on it.
-------------------------------------------------------------
You will have a dual boot,
one for the normal files on it and
one for the DSS files on it.
The normal boot will have NONE of the DSS files on it and none of the program registry files on it.
Set you BIOS to automatic hard drive detection.
Don't put the screws in the DSS hard drive.
Two cables and the hard drive is your to take away.
.
Buy a degaussing strip like there TV repairman use to use and you can wipe the hard drive clan as a baby's ass in 5 second.
.
.
(I been doing for years switcher hard drivers, I never had outage computers for all the hard drive I had so it it the safes method with hard drive able to take the switching and memory retained better by far all the CD, DVD, and thumb drivers in existence)
