checkswitch question

i have a dishpro 500 dish. when i run checkswitch it has x's in all but says satelite reception verified. i have tried for hours and get get any reception. any ideas?

take a software update to the receiver.

also check that you actually get a picture on the barker channels...101 etc. If not, your dish needs aligning.

software is at p360. is it just really hard to allign the dish?

not if you do it with an alignment meter or use the signal meter in the menus. But just because you get a message that says sat reception verified...that only means it is connected electrically from the lnb's to the ird, not that the dish is correctly pointed. But if you actually see some video, s/b ok.

problem solved. i had to put a new connector on the cable in to my ird. i wasnt getting any power to the dish. thanks for the help and hope this helps someone too
