The session keys are not something you block or you get no picture. I am no coder but I understand that once they start this new MAP call it is sayonara for emulators for another long stretch. Please feel free to ignore my post and buy a Viewsat.

mili

The provider has had stream problems with subs ever sense he changed the encryption to N2. He has not proved that N2 encryption is stable for more than a few weeks, approx. 45 to 90 days. However, he has proved that he can kill FTA and Rom 102 cards up to a point. The new revision will be the ultimate test in deciding any further possibilities for testing NagraVision cams in the future.

A great deal of information has come available quickly in the last 24 hours to coders that would indicate problems for testers once this revision is final. It would be best for testers not to invest in any new ventures until this mess has concluded in a positive way. That means not to buy anything for at least 45 days once the stream is loaded up to N2 again. I personally feel that there is a very good chance that all testing forms will go down this time if subs are not adversely affected.

i'm not going to pretend i understand the session key influence referered to all of a sudden...up til now it's all been about the map call....any comments about how the session keys will affect us will be an education for sure.......as i understand things 102 cams have the complete map intact so carded fta should be able to recover?....no session key influence there?.....1one you have a pm from me to ask about something else.....cheers all and good luck....at least we have something new to explore...thanx in advance to the braniacs...lol.....seaboard, i know what you are trying to say, but n2 has been the state of their art for quite a while now.....it may be that some of the changes made have caused sub problems, but for sure n2 has never been deimplemented....so come on all, lets not focus on that semantic inaccuracy from here on in....thanx

Coolsat 4000 pro is working, but the following are scrambled: ESPN, USA, Gameshow Network, OLN, SPIKE, MTV, NBATV, 7 of 9 pay-per-view sports, 19 of 22 pay-per-view movies. Please help descramble the above channels. Or simply how can those channels be brought back? :)

I saw that answer coming. This proves again the stability of Rom102.

Very possible I am wrong on this but my understanding is the only some receivers use the SK,, the 301.013, 508, and 510. the 301.010 2800 and 501 are not sk based receivers. so if they are removing the sk total from tsops then you would still be able to clone and ex sub fine. to clone an ex sub of a 510 you need to remove the session key anyway.

Now again I may be way off base here, I have cloned a few 501s and 301.010, and have cloned a 510 with 501 numbers by removing the SK from the tsop.

If I am way off base will somebody please explain what I am not understanding

Thank you!!

I suspect that the Coolsat with card AUX will survive these new map calls. The CS should simply ignore the SK handshake and be able to decrypt the video by making map calls to the 102 as it is doing right now.

It looks like this ecm will kill non-102 based fta's along with cloned 102's in Dish ird's.

I wonder how many total MAP calls dish can implement? Will the coder who was supposedly hired by viewsat be able to crack them? this is getting interesting and annoying at the same time. just my $0.02 worth.

The "MAP" is just a math processor. It is like the pentium chip in your PC. It does calculations based on an instruction set that is specific to that processor. Have you ever heard of anyone "having" the intel pentium code? Saying they have the "full MAP" is like saying they have the full pentium code. Albeit the pentium has a lot more in it, it is still similar in theory. If you have the "full map", what you would have is a math processor. That's what the ROMs have on them. Several from what I understand. It's one thing to figure out what requests are going to the processor and what replys are returned, and then "emulate" this exchange in software. It is quite another to duplicate the entire instruction set so that it would respond correctly to ANY requests.

Right on the money Ohms: wonder how many will take the time to read this and understand what it is that they are working with/against?

Only time will till if all subs and FTA boxes goes down, even if veiwsat has the full map 57 its not sure they would implement all the calls into the stream. I have several of this boxes, all work on DN/BEV channels 1357 right now.

But last weekend they showed all sub's and FTA's owner they could remove NFL ticket from these receiever.I was installing a unit and flashed the newest Bin file. NFL ticket was still down on BEV.This show's me they can get around the map in these boxes. And if so,
most will go down in the next ECM that hits the stream.
Will Veiwsat servive? ONLY time will tell.

So if the SK modded irds and cams are targeted, how will that affect those modded with RSA mods , if at all ?
