Im having trouble bringing in the 82 and 91 birds with a 500 d*sh. It has a legacy quad. I am peaking on the 91 first but when i go to check the 82 its not there. I know that i can receive both because i have had a decent signal on both. i get about 90% on 91 alone or 60% on the 82 alone. I just cant seems to pull them both in. I live in Austin Tx, Do you think im too far south for the 500 d*sh ?
I guess i could hook up another dish 300 to the 500 but i would like to keep the dishes to a minimum.
I have used the sat calculaters for the skew but nothing seems to work. Thanks

Its better to use a dish500 for 110.0w and 119.0w DN and use a dish 300 of DTV dish to receive 91.0w (nimiqs 1,3 and nimiqs 2) with a DTV 3 headed lnb Oval dish. This is what the dish was made for.Your dish 300 is a great dish for niiqs 1,3 and has all the channels you need about 300-400 channels.this will give you around 1357 channels w/ DN/BEV together.
I use this with several dishes at once.

Your skew is off most likely.
The 500 with a DP Quad or Twin for the 82/91 is the same 9 degree spread as the 110/119 that is was designed for, it will work fine if you get your alignment right.

Dish 500 id good for Bev in Austin. I am in Kansas and use Dish 500 for bev very good. Bird 82 is very hard to get. Try to get 91 first then turn skew a little. I use transponder 19 to get both 82 and 91. How ever some Asian chanel after I get good signal, must use transponder 32 to get 82 to maximum signal strength.
I hook up 50 dish for DN is no problem, just 5 minutes, but Bev 82 took me several hours.

took me about an hour and a half on the roof but finally got both sats.
It was most likely the skew throwing me off. first time ive done a 500.
thx to all.
