I use nero to burn dvd's but it can only handle certain types of files. Sometimes I download movies that i wanna burn to a dvd but because they are in mpeg or .avi format, i can't! Is there a program that I can use top convert these files to dvd format and hence use nero to burn them to a dvd? Thanks

I used the ConvertXtoDVD, but it can be slow. I have WinAVI Converter, but for the life of me can't figure out how to burn the converted files to DVD. What I do is convert using avi and burn using convertxdvd.
Since you download movies, then you must download software I found it on mininova.org

I use TMPGENC software by Pegassy software. This is really nice converter. There are two software.
1. TMPGEnc Xpress - Convert your media file to DVD MPG format
2. TMPGEnc Dvd Author - Convert DVD MPG format to DVD format than burn it with nero or othe dvd burner software.
Also you can create Menu. edit chaper, delete chapter. This is really nice software.
It is not a freeware. but you can download the crack version from Shareazza.

Speaking of Shareazza...
I wonder what happened with our Torrent section here?

that is good software.....worth getting.....

Too much bandwith and too much expense I'm guessing. It was cool, but I'm thinking it was a stop-gap measure and possibly back up plan in case testing as we know it became a thing of the past. This is just my assumption. You'd have to ask Mili for the real scoop.

I am downloading the procoder2 now and also the TMPG file. I have WinAVi, converts the file no problem and really fast but still can't figure out how to burn the file to DVd.

I have CCE for running with DVD Rebuilder.
I need Procoder2..if anyone has a torrent or anywhere eles I can get this, I'd appreciate it.
The damn thing is like $245 new.
I'm not looking ot purchase..... :D
If anyone is wondering the use.... DVD rebuilder takes DVD titles and tears them down and recodes them, (simplistic term), making them smaller with excellent video/audio quality.
I made a copy of King Kong using DVD Shrink and it was 55% compression to get it on a DVD5.
While it did fit, the video was not anything near acceptable for me.
I'm finicky about my video and audio quality.
With DVD Rebuilder, using CCE, I was able to rebuild the entire thing and fit it nicely on a DVD5 and to tell you the truth, I can;t tell the difference in the original and the backup any longer.
It took 2 hours to do it, where as Shrink did it in 20 minutes, but the compression and decoding/encoding difference is amazing.
Now, with most movies, this isn;t an issue, as I only have to do between 5-15% compression, sometimes none, but with bigger movies like King Kong and the Star Wars rereleases, these 2 hour long movies just don;t compress and retain their quality very well with the freeware apps.
I strongly urge you to try DVD Rebuilder if you are suffering from compression/quality issue.
You won;t regret it.

If you are just copying a DVD then try CloneDVD, better than shrink.
I did download Procoder 2 and wasted my time. You need a dongle plugged in your usb port to make the program work, good for copyright protection. My wife's embroider program using one of these bastards also.

Oh, trust me, I have some 500 DVD copies already.
I have every freeware app out there and I don't much care for the 1 click solutions.
I prefer to work with the individual files and create PSL files on my own.
I'm nowhere new to DVD backup.
I need Procoder 2 for it;s encoding ability, that's it.
It's used as a plug-in encoder for DVD Rebuilder, just like CCE aznd then there are 3 freeware encoders as well.
I have them all except Procoder2 and I want that one.
And I ahve used CloneDVD.. I don't like it.
Also, I have 4 X 400gb harddrives for holding ISO images of my DVDs, I intend on building a new tower to hold 8 Harddrives.
The reason is so that my kids don;t have to touch my DVDs.
I run this computer on my TV and it allows them to select the movie they want on the screena nd watch it from there.
DVD Clone doesn;t ahve an ISO feature, or at least it didnt.
Like I said though, I prefer to work witht he files individually.

Well buddy you have to buy the Procoder 2 because you need a dongle (usb device specific to Procoder) plugged in to use it and the only way you get the dongle is if you buy the program. I have downloaded it already and without the dongle you are SOL.

Yeah, there is no need to buy it if I can get the proper copy and "fix" it.
I'd prefer a copy already fixed, cracked, whatever, but I can do it myself if need be.
CCE is the same situation as Procoder2, yet I handled it the same way and it's running bueatifully.
