Can I use my friends charlie IRD ....

model 311 (he does not need a card or phone line to watch charlie subscription, 3rd in his house). I wish to use his IRD to align my dish (so that I know that I am tuned to 61.5 or 119? Will he have any problems watching TV after I return it to him? Will have to call charlie to get his IRD running again? SOmeone told me that may happen !!!!! I do not want to jeopardise his charlie account !!!!!

You can use his receiver to align your dish. If you wish, you can keep his receiver and watch his subscribed programming. The receiver doesn't need to be at his house to receive his programming - just don't plug in the phone line.

BTW - his receiver does have a card (it's a built-in chip).
