been thinking of buying a fta reciever , what do you guys think of the Digiwave DG7200S ??? ( one of the ones in milli's store ) .
i'm just looking for something fairly simple , like the 301 / 3100 reciever , something that does the job reliably without too much fuss .
any ideas , any recievers i should avoid at all costs ?
thanks guys :)

I'd see how the latest ECM affects the ftas then make a decision. The top choices would be Viewsat, Sonicview, Buzz, Coolsat and Pansat. That's the way I'd order them. Viewsat seems to have the best support right now bc VS, SV, and Buzz were the only ones out w/a cardless fix before everything became wide open. But Coolsat has the carded fix if you have an older 102 or 103 card layin around. I'd give it a week or so and see.

I agree, wait to see what is going to happen. I would suggest a viewsat. I have the coolsat 5000 the guide is the shits and updates don't come as fast as viewsat. I wouldn't touch a digiwave.

Wait till the new ecm enters the stream and then see how (or if) Viewsat deals with it. That would be the one to go with...Im waiting to buy one here myself..I have a pansat which still gets the locals but that was it up till they took the map out of the stream..wouldnt touch digiwave here either....If coolsat ever came out with a cardless fix to go along with the carded fix ..thats something to think about.
But if your looking for what FTA is really used for you can get a cheap pansat model (i have 2500) that will work well with the real true to air signals

thanks for the posts guys .... BUT .... you seemed to miss my point a bit ......maybe i should have been clearer .....
it was posted under "real fta " for a reason . ...
i have all the equipment for playing around with bev and dish in various ways .
I want to see what is out there in terms of " real " fta signals , not using a fta to watch dish or bev .
now with that mindset , what reciever do i avoid , what would be recomended ?
thanks :)
