Guide Download problem with 508

Hi all,

I have several 508's and all have problems downloading the guide at times. The progress bar will get approximately 2/3's of the way across and then stop. I thought this might have been a lock problem but I don't have a lock on one of the units and it does the same.

I should mention that I only have 110 and am in a fringe region and can only get transponders 1,5,8,9,16,21,24 & 25.

Does part of the guide come in on one transponder and then it gets the rest from another that might be too weak at the time to get it?

This is pretty annoying and I am hoping that maybe I am missing something here.

depend's on what signal strength your getting....on any of the transponders....it has to be good (high)..to work properly ...A larger dish may be an option...or fine tuneing the existing one may help...good luck.

I wish that a larger dish were an option (no money for a bigger one), I am already using an 8' Andersen offset and I have tuned it as perfectly as possible as the signal strength is quite weak at the best of times (except 25 of which we get the Puerto Rico spot beam and this very strong).
