how to start 311 for a slow noob?

i'm hoping i am posting this properly as i need to start right.
i got a modded dn 311 from someone that cannot guide me for other reasons.
"chip has been removed and mounted onto a board" hence the card in slot, i guess? no remote control came with it. came w/ pw to unlock.. the rcvr looks a lot like in all the posted pics in most forums.
i hooked it up; not to stream but, to tv and found DNASP: 102 Rev 289.
Now, if someone could make me understand much better and guide me to the right direction i would gladly decipher it in my own slow ways.
i need or do i need a loader to unlock? do i need a programmer to read/program this "card"? afterwhich with proggies in pc? such as intercept, n2edit, dt-tierworks, blocker (did i forget anything else?) i will be able to tie it all in? can this modded ird311,102 rev 289 an exception and be workable as peeps call it cardless 311? i couldnt understand without a clear picture in my head as to what connections of what machine to which machine. otherwise i have no idea how to hook up the rcvr to a pc for all the other proggies to apply. lastly, do i have to wait for more time for the rev 289 script and i suppose more input and reading?

The chip in the slot of the 311 had been removed unless he hooked up the slot reader it is IRD is junk (the card reader don't work)

There are all diffident kind of IRD, that all look the same, look for the numbers of the left rear of the panel

Look here, that will get you started, you need an ISO , came w/ pw to unlock..
Read the ISO therds and "save" the card two of three times, you will need the numbers off it.

If you have a IRD 311 and it works, you need the IRD# and the Box Keys numbers, I hope he left for you. if he used this card beofe, you can get the IRD# & Box Keys off the card.

for more info; i guess, the card reader/slot of this ird is modded/wired as pics suggests. when i pulled out the thin card it is apparent that it's also modded/wired and chip/wires are glued over after the weldwork.

i didnt think i put the ird on line. just hooked it up with a tv/monitor & thats how i found out the 102 rev 289 and such; dp311 sw310, ROO xxxx xxxx - xx, SOOxxxx xxxx - xx, device dp34-500, twin-1(1), twin-2(2), n.c (3), location id-xxxxxxxx, hwid-xxxx-x, bootstrap 1115, pxxxxxxxxxx-xx, last connect(dated) xx/xx/xx.

ty for ur suggestn. i will read up on ISO's. didnt understand what u meant p/w to unlock,though. did you mean the sets of numbers it came with; which i thought p/w(i may have chosen wrong choice of wording), 4sets of 4 numbers?

i thought it's obvious, that this ird is working. after reading so much infos i just dont want to mess it up without understanding what's what and which is which.

I think what SJ was saying is .....if the card has been programmed and left unlocked...when you put in stream it will lock you out and you will not get back in.

You will need a Iso to test and reprogram your card. It is also the safest thing to read the chip before you plug into the stream. Without being able to read the card you are guessing that it is locked and programmed right.

Also you want to save ird and box keys etc. If for some reason the chip gets looped ....you can reprogram another card and still have a working ird.

if the card has been programmed and left unlocked...or if you have a old lock when you put in stream it will lock you out and you will not get back in.

Read the ISO threads and "save" the card two of three times, in different places you will need the numbers off it.

That explainer how to do it, don't write you just get the number of of it and save the card information. If you lose the IRD # and Box Key informant there is no way you hack get it back, you can't J-Tag that model to get them.

the you can read and save the card

you will need a new program, (if that program is good), all you need is new blocker put on it that says

Can type: ROM 103 REV 10B
that will protect you card from doing locked by dish
