Is the older locks ok to use with the 2700? or no? I am getting the impression it is the 3100's that like to nag w/ the older ones..
thanks in advance
Jay
If your talking bev then the older locks are ok..if dish then you'll have to install the newer one's sooner or later...sooner being the formative word here....digilock4 is the newer one.

I have 2700 for BEV.
I just build and install a TSOP lock myself yesterday. It's not a digital Locks. It only require 33 ohm and 1K ohm resistors to install.
Is this the old locks you refer?
Anyway I still got hit. After I power cycle the IRD, still got Location ID 0000001.
DO I have to turn to buy those digital lock? What's the latest one?
Or is there any instructions can tell me how to build one?
Thanks!

Word is that as of last night, Bev is now hitting the old-style locks, same as Charlie.
You're wasting your time if it's not a v4 digilock - the new one w/ the connection for DQ7.
I don't understand why people bother with digilocks - including the v4 - when the softlock is working. Take the time and effort you would have spent building and installing a digilock, and build a buffered jtag instead - which you need anyway, locks or no locks - and backup your TSOP and install the softlock, and watch TV until bev and Charlie find a way around the softlock. Then you can worry about installing a digilock.
What do you mean by installing "softlock"?
What is that and how do I do that? Is bevall include that? Thanks!

Where are you getting this info as I have not heard or seen anything suggesting this is taking place?
