I may be wrong but one thing I noticed....I took a good card and a looped card. I know that the names for the contacts are not correct, so don't bash me for that.
All reads are looking at the back of card, gold contacts to the top.
With an ohm meter set at 2k, I read continuity between all the contacts on the gold chip.
The center block and the lower right corner will always have continuity.
The center block and the upper right corner HAS continuity on LOOPED CARDS and DOES NOT on good cards.
So, from what I see, somehow, the center and the upper right corner has shorted together. It's not much, at 2k setting, it only reads 1.290. It's not a 100% short.
I may be totally off base with this but I haven't seen anyone state anything along these lines. I'm not too good at these chips but I will see what the o'scope will tell me in the next few days.
