I had a extra open 311 receiver laying around that I decided to take the bga chip out, mount it on a rom 10 and use in my 501. I already have one 501 running public with a plastic 102 card in it. Can I just write the same image to the bga card, or do I need to change the blocker that's on that image to an i-cam blocker? I'm using the codespace blocker. I also need to know if I would need to clean this card or what steps to clear all the junk from the card.

Treat it as an external card. Write a virgin image. That will clean it.
Your image should do the same job, overwrite everything.

I keep hearing about writing virgin images...where do I find a virgin image? Also, it doesn't matter if the image I write to the i-cam has a plastic blocker on it? I thought you only suppose to use internal blockers on i-cams.

Use your plastic 102 image clean the codespace and write it to the BGA card. If you are going to use is in the 501 then use the plastic blocker and if you are going to use it in a cardless receiver then use the i-cam blocker.

Ok, thanks. That cleared things up a bit.
