ok hooked up new ird at friends house everything worked, brought home and did switch check no switch found. Spent over 4 hours searching for signal to do check switch, IM totoally lost any clues toget it up and running???

No switch found?? Bad cable prolly, check the ends, make sure no shorts with the shield wires, and shield wires must be intact and continous.

The receiver powers the LNB thru the cable, and needs both the center wire and shield to supply the nescessary voltages to the lnb.

all checked fine, could it be lnb's bad or sw 21 bad?

ok finnally found sw21 but now only recieving 119 no 110

iv got a 301-013, ran check switch a few more times, it comes up with all kinds of switches each time, now its picking up a sat 129

Are you using a Legacy or DP LNB.?
For an SW21 you must use a Legacy LNB.

Yep legacy lnb's, next step change the cable to the other post on the 110 lnb and see if that works

Leave out the SW21 and hook directly to each LNB to check for signal.
Confirm you have the 119 on the 119 side and the 110 on the 110 side.
Put the SW21 back in and do a check switch.

am i correct that 110 goes on switch1 and 119 on switch 2? Also why does it come up sw21-3 sat other times swuj then if i get lucky i get just sw21, these are what im getting on the check switch

If you can hook straight into lnbs and get signals I would think your problem is the sw21?
I have had one go bad before...somewhat different sypmtoms than yours, but replacing it fixed problem right away

OK left out the sw21 and recieved 119 full strength, no 110, so changed post cable and sw21 switch back, and badda boom good signal from both, thanks all for the help. Now I await my mikobu vortex loader due in this week!!! Thanks everyone, i think it was a bad post on the lnb
