Tried everything and I can't get seem to get this card going after key change today.

Using these keys:
KEY0=0CFA3973915FF554E9561C428B7ACAB2
KEY1=66B9F65370ED2A5B31D559D29F1C5263

Updated romecode and it saw an update
cleaning the card
Update settings.ini
program card without the bin
Nothing but black screen

Tried the niagra master trick (below)and nothing but black screen

http://www.dssftp.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif Nagrmaster for Updating Key for ROMCODE User
I tried so many times with one step key change, didn't work. BUT finally I I did follow the steps
1 clean card with romcode 4.21
2 open nagramaster 3.8.1 and read card
3 Click on Get key at the top of the program
4 writh the image to the card
5 reprogram card with romcode 4.21(ofcourse with original settings.ini)
and finally it worked. Thanks a lot to .mdfsandman (http://dssftp.com/forum/member.php?u=34530)..

Any ideas?

Well still have a blank screen. I used the settings.ini file the first time without any problem. Chan. 500 also in for me. It's for sure a key issue.
Is there a way to verifiy what keys are on the card? Or any other ideas?

No KEY Found on the second key. Key 96.
How do you fix this?

From what I know, most ex sub are up with changing the key in .ini but all the ones that are using private bin option does not work. Still blank screen.

When you change the keys in the ini file, you do not have to bother to check the private bin. You just re-program it. The IRD I have with a private bin is working fine with the latest keys.

same here no go with either private bin box checked or not, on the last key change i got it working so i have no idea whats up, anyone can confirm the actual keys they are using on a card that is working?

This is the ini file ( called "settings configuration settings" in Romcode ) that is working on both a married ex-sub unit and one where I use the private bin. Both are 301.013 receivers, but I don't think the type of IRD you have makes any difference. The parts I edited out ( local remap and Timezone ) have NOTHING to do with the keys. It's the Key 0 and Key 1 that have to be precise. I am using Romcode 4.21

you only need to check the private bin box the first time you program the card. After that, and when you change the keys, leave the box unchecked as the bin is already loaded on the card. If you do this, then the key changes will work. If you don't ....well...they won't

If you read with nagramaster and only have key 0 - this is what happened to my rev 103 using RC. Then follow crazy1_79's sticky on how to update keys in this section.

Are you changing the box keys, etc., on the receiver? That's the only thing I can think of; it sounds like everything else is right.

I got this over at SatJunctions site On Thursday night when my screen went black and nothing from Romcode worked to fix it. It is still working right now 2:38PM Saturday East coast. Hope this helps you out.

By the way I used 4.21 for mine Thursday and did my buds card this morning with 4.22.

1. program card with romcode as normal (with private bin checked)
2. clean card in romcode
3. read card in n2edit 2.58 save bin
4. open that bin with nagraedit 5.2
5. go to data editor click add data type
6. click drecrypt keys in the "type" field
7. choose 1A (26 bytes)
8. the tier will be created then copy and paste this info:
14 F6 A4 84 01 00 00 46 08 10 17 99 73 9F 04 B7 F0 2A AD 02 51 13 67 5C 6E 4A (new key in blue) (You basically replace the zeros you just created with the numbers above )
9. save this bin again
10. write this bin with n2edit 2.58
11. open romcode...uncheck private bin and save setting
12. then program card with romcode.
13. make sure it locked!!!

card should be good at this point

bigbronco- thanks for the advice....followed your instructions and worked....so thanks.! But Romcode in an effort to make things easier have now provided me with a 13 step process to change the friggin keys- Now what's wrong with this picture!!!!

Rom Code is trying to make it idiot proof. The problem is that with GOOD instructions, it can ABSOLUTELY be simplified.
