If you get blank screen even though you got the latest keys in ROMCODE read here

I was thinking I was going mad. Some cards would work well with ROMCODE 4.22 and its key retriever and some would give blank screen.
I checked all a million times. I made sure the keys in settings.ini and also in the field under Settings in ROMCODE are the latest and yet the screen was headers only which is an indicator of having the wrong IDEA keys. I Cleaned Card in ROMCODE then read the card with Nagramaster and noticed that IDE KEY 1 which is Key 96 in Nagramaster was blank even though it should not have been. Clicking that field in NM will not open up the editor if there is nothing in there originally. I clicked NM's DishKeys thingy which also refused to populate Key1 so I had to use DTierWorks to finally get Key1 have the correct value. If you want to manually edit Key1 you got to start at EEPROM location A99F (the end of line A990 as seen on the picture attached). I will ask the ROMCODE people look into this weirdness as many people complained about blank screens in the past few days.
It boggles my mind why Nagramaster as well as ROMCODE would not write Key1 even though everything is set properly but only in some cases???

I tried exactly what you said but can't get either the nagramaster or dtiers to open. My programmer needs to be and is set to port 2 to function correctly. Sooooooooo, is there a way to set these two programs to it?
I tried and looked but can;t find where you can set these preferences in these respective programs.

You can use Nagra2Edit and manually edit Key1 starting at EEPROM A99F
Nagramaster 3.8.1 from the downloads also allows you to change your COM port.

I am looking all over at NagraMaster 3.8.1 and can't find any way to set the port settings. Maybe it is me, I don't know, but maybe you could tell me how to set it...?

To change your COM port with NagraMaster3.8.1.
you must have 1024 X 768 resolution on your screen.
In the lower right part is where I can change the port COM1 to COM2-3 4
With 800X600 you cant see that part

I ran DTtierworks v21.0 and got a runtime error "5".. when I would try to get the keys. .Do you know a workaround for this?

first clean card in romcode, then switch to nagramaster 3.8.1 then back to romcode to program...hope this helps....

I didn't realize I had to make the tier change to my original bin. I was trying to access the romcode bin to patch to and it would not. so I built my tiers added new keys (to my original card bin tier list) in DT tier works then patched it to my original bin then added the rom code on top and all is working

I keep trying to get nagramaster3.8.1 to load on my laptop but it keeps coming up wrong port setting and then closes, even thu I can get 2.0 working fine. I have trired this program on three laptops with the same results on all. anyone know how I can get this program working on my laptop or any one of the three working ...????

They released 4.23 and that should clear this issue up.

Man just try it on another PC. Unfortunately some PCs are just too weird to be 100% compatible with everything out there.

mili i have tried it on 3 different laptops and the same problem. maybe only works on desktops.. I hope they come out with another version that works on laptops..

Question: I realize that you can check the desired tiers from the romcode program, but is there a way to ADD tiers to this? Also, how would a person equate a program channel to a tier address so that I could program in romcode?

My laptop does not allow me to use com 1 - 4 I use come 5 on nagmaster 2.0 it says I can use the same com port in 3.8.1 but as soon as I do a reset it tells me I am using the wrong port. Any help on how to get 3.8.1 work on my laptop would be great help!!!!!!!!!
