I was given a fta receiver. All that it says on the receiver is Digital Satelillite Receiver. It doesnt have any serial any model etc.. When I hooked it up and go to the menu I get this for the software
2.73t, 4 sec GC_RTN_TVE Boot Ver;5.1 18 March 2006 CHANCYLAND
Does anyone know what these mean also is there a way to find out what type of receiver this is, it looks as if it was used to get some dish before. Thank you all

See if you can get the serial # going by "CHANCYLAND " it sounds like apantec/fortec clone or pasnsat clone.....thats a type of bin I have on mine (by chancy)

Does it need a special cable. I just tried to run a script and I wasnt allowed. Failed to read I was using a standard cable for a pansat 2700
