There might not be anything on at this time that a lot of people want to watch, but what about NFL Football this Sunday? Charlie has already demonstrated that he will roll keys on a Sunday. If Charlie has the capabilities of rolling the keys every hour on Sunday ( without messing up the regular subs ) , the plastic game is over until somebody comes up with a safe autoroll.

how much does the rom code blocker cost and i take it that it doesnt roll the keys. so why are you paying for it. i am asking a serious question. hell if it would rolll keys i would buy it. but since it doesnt why are you paying for something that is free

1. Because it is so simple to change the keys.
2. Because it is non-public.
3. Because it is safe and cheap @ $11.66 a month.
A really safe auto-roll has not been available and until one is offered that is safe I don't wish to risk my only card.

Well said! I don't use them, but it's real deal and very newbie orientated....just click and go!
The FreeTV'rs are something else, first they won't pay a cent for cable or sat programming and want it all for Free. To further add insult to injury, they won't pay someone to give them their Free TV. LOL!!
PS with friends like that, who needs enemies? ;-)

Yea but they have been having to change it daily to ver4 back to 3 and so on last I read. How would RC look updating their hex every day. Hey if penga solved it then great. He is a talented coder and I hope he did so we all could benefit RC included.

Romcode is a really nice package. Easier then loading some FTA's even.
Do any of the other blockers have a GUI like Romcode? or RomProtect? which I believe is pretty much the same thing with a different skin?

They are the same and their are 2 or 3 others too. But their protected through password and cam membership.

I think I'll let other people beta test it for the time being.
Here is a cut and paste from one of the coders at Romcode:
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________________
"We do know how to roll the keys with this latest morphing keychange packet. BUT....With this particular packet, chucky can hide some code that could be executed by your card that will permanently loop it. With this possibility as great as it is, the owners of ROMCODE have decided not to risk the cards of all their customers. Will there ever be another autoroll????? History has told us that sure, eventually we will find a safe way to pass the keychange, but until we/they are very sure that the cards are not at risk, manually changing your keys is the best way to go. THere are a few public blockers out there that will roll the keys the you could use if you wanted too, but i sure as hell wont use them. 1st they're public, so chucky knows about them and 2nd, they are passing this emm and are bound to get looped. The choice, as always is yours."

how about two versions of romcode an autoroll version for those that have balls, and non-autoroll for those that want to play it safe.

The future is going to dictate whether or when an autoroll becomes a necessity. I will not elaborate for obvious reasons. Right now it is stay the course if you will to quote an idiot.

because its a pain in the ass bandit!
let the customers decide what they want, it doesnt cost them anything, they already have it and those who want to risk it can by using autoroll, the #1 reason for people purchasing romcode is simplicity and safety is second, as a private blocker it does protect and doing autoroll without the option of nonautoroll at thsi point would put their customers cards in danger, but giving them a choice would increase customer satisfaction, not all would take advantage of it and be willing to risk their card but quite a few would, and i know thats exactly what dishnet wants, but some of us are willing to take the chance, when they atart to roll even more then now it will be pointless to reprogram your card every 30min, you wont even be able to wacth a tv show without missing a part of it to reprogram. bottom line is some of us have rom102s purchased form a while back for cheap and are willing to take the chance, and i know you can try public blocker for that but once again, private is safer, and romcode is simpler, no need to redo the tsop on your box and so on, its really simple if you think about it, offer the autoroll as a ON OFF feature in romcode. I appreciate them working on it till they feel its safe enought but in the meantime why not offer it, those few that will use it will not blame them if there cards get looped, evryone playing this game knows what it brings with the terrirory. When you pay for a service you expect some things for your buck, romcode has been great if not the best to this day, no complints there just a suggestion really, i am very happy with it, but that doesnt mean it cant be advanced or offer a choice to its users..

Can anyone tell me why rc 4.06 says my card is unlocked while rc 4.23 says it is locked. Then when i try to read card in n2edit it says backdoor not present. I try putting in my password but it says unlock failed.

I hope they do offer it and then I hope it gets smacked and then I want you to come here a complain about how RC didn't make it clear enough and blah, blah, blah!
If it is too much trouble for you why not just cancel and move on? Let me know when you are having your whine and cheese party and I'll be there!
As far as I know RC does offer a choice to their customers: subscribe or go elsewhere!

just my opinion, so dont get so defensive about it bandit, i sense a lot of hostility from you, are you even using romcode yourself? i know what i am doing, and if i want to risk a card it is my choice not yours, just cause you dont have the balls to play and have a strong opinion on playing it safe, thats fine, everyone can do what they wish, thats your opinion and i have mine, but dont start talking shit, that is the point i am making, allowing the choice. its an open forum discussion thats all.
ps your not playing nice (today at least)! i see you racking up your posts and see you help a lot of people but to get that kind of flaming from you was definately unexpected and dissapointing, you need to deal with the fact that evryone can have their own opinion and they dont have to agree with yours, so what upset you so much about my post?
ps again great job wishing for a fellow members cards to get "smacked" also, thats real great, you are the greatest member ever.

Hey Homer. It says unknown provider in all those. It is a dp311 with internal 102 i bought from mili and it has said unknown provider since i got it.

looks like you forgot to clean them in romcode older version before programming in the 4.22/4.23 version? i fixed the unknown provider by reading post here, just do a search for unknown provider 102 and it will tell you how to fix it, id point you the write way if i remebered what program i used or where the info was exactly but a search will pull it right up!

Homer,,if you feel so strongly about this and as you said you know what you are doing, and let us not forget you have the balls,Why don't you put the autoroll patch on and leave it at that? If you know what your doing and you cards were gotten cheaply why don't you test it out for us and we will wait to hear your progress with baited breath.

scort give me a patch that will work appropriately with the romcode program and i would be happy is shit! i would try it out for you, not a problem, but i would prefer to have one made by romcode, that is my point, i dont want a public one first of all and i want it made by the same guy who made the program to make sure its compatible and as safe as it can be. once again its just a suggestion, maybe i am the only guy who is willing to try the autoroll, what i feel more stronlgy about is getting a permanenet and safe fix that romcode has already said they are working on, so i can live with what we have now, i do love the romcode program just made a suggestion thats all.

just a quick snapshot...in my opinion...Romcode was not set up as a more convenient program..it was set up to be superior than a public script. While I agree Romcode is quick and convenient - they have not yet proven that they can do anything over and above a public script.
I don't know much about them, but to offer a program of this type you would think they have some good programmers on staff. I am not trying to bash anyone but.. I would have expeted them to have an autoroll in place and therefore "prove" why they are superior!!! So far..other than convenience they have not demostrated their "Value" over public.

Why did you tell Homer to cancel and move on? If he paid $ 70.00 for the six month subscription from Mili, you know perfectly well that neither Mili nor Romcode is going to give him a pro-rata refund.
So far, I am pretty satisfied with Romcode. OTOH.............Romcode is NOT some perfect program that NEVER has any issues.
Just because it is only $ 140.00 a year does not mean that people should just piss money away if Romcode stops working as advertised. I have some disposable income, but I'd prefer to donate it to charity rather than coders.
I'm not getting rid of Romcode, but I'm not going to kiss the coder's ass for something I've paid for. Only time will tell if Romcode can keep up with the latest antics of Charlie. Based on what is happening now , the coders have their work cut out for them.

Did you put your old user name and password when you re-registered it? Your cam signature numbers should come right up when you click on refresh cam list. You have to click on cam setup first.

In a post above it was stated that Romcode is private ?? I know thats how its promoted but whats to stop chucky cheeses vampire monkeys from buying a sub? The guys that sell it seem to sell it to anyone just like they sell everything else on their sites?? there is no background check? or any way for them to know who their customers are or am I missing something here?
Just curious to know??? and since its the same code for at least two products Rom code and protect it would seem very easy for them to have their own sub just like im sure they pay people to read these forums like the NSA reads email from Afghanstain ?

Romcode has an anti-glitch feature built into it. Does that mean it's impossible for Charlie to glitch into it? I doubt it. OTOH........there are fewer people using Romcode, so I suspect that Charlie is more likely to go after the public blockers. That is an advantage for people using Romcode.

I check romcode for new keys...today it said "new key retrieved" three times already today/ Not a big problem it only takes seconds to fix...but is this the future? Question...when I open the program and it says new keys retrieved that that tell us the keys were changed and a new up date w/new new keys necessary??
Thanks Vegasmax

I always look in the box. if it changes I know it got new keys. I do it in the settings, I have the romcode set not to update automatically :) easier to see that way..
BTW this one closed too with all the other new key threads.
and oh yeah, if your not online and it is set to automatic it will give you 32 blank spaces in the ini file :)
