windows XP & Apple Talk

HELP. Trying to upgrade to windows XP but it says it will not allow me to upgrade because apple talk protocol is not supported. What do I do?

i I was trying to load Nortons Antivirus 2007 on a windows 2000 machine but it wouldn't let me. Told me I needed Windos XP.
So I tried to install windows xp but it told me it couldn't install with Apple Talk Protocol on the machine.
So here I sit, stuck in the muc. Can't load Nortons, can't install windows XP

So either get a Anti virus that fits windows 2000

or let windows do a 'clean install" on it (do a disk format) that will get them Apple Talk Protocol
