Hey guys,

Now this thread has nothing to do with satellite hacking.... but rather something that i'm curious about.

I noticed that alot of satellite hacking is actually hardware based and requires retrieving of box keys and ird #'s from the hardware to incorporate into hacks. Now going along that same line.... i was wondering if anyone out there has attempted to read the Triple DES encryption keys off POS (Point of Sale) PIN Pads. :D

Now some of you may realize what i'm getting at.... others may totally be like HUH? Either way the people who know what i'm talking about.... enlighten me a little. And if this is something that shouldn't be discussed in the open forums then please let me know.

If one could access the encryption keys in the internal circuitry of a PIN pad without it self-destructing... well lets just put it this way..... you could make more $ than any of these DSS dealers do. Get the drift.

I'll await some interesting feedback on this issue......

Unauthorized decryption of a sat based video stream is one thing. Bank robbery is quite another.

two ends of the legal spectrum

I wasn't implying to rob a bank..... more along the lines of how the encryption works for educational purposes. :D
