My friend has one of these satellite internet systems installed and the other day he accidently knocked the dish off course. I'm trying to help him sort the problem out but even tho I'm an electronic/computer guy, i've never worked with one of these systems before. Is there a signal meter or something in the built in configuration utility that will help me lock onto the signal once again, or how do i go about it? Thank you.

There is a meter, called a Birdog. It can tell you which sat it is looking at. The signal for the internet is very tight and not easy to get locked on. The modem/system has a graphic display shown signal strength, but someone has to which it while someone moves the dish. It may not tell you if you get on the wrong bird. You can call there 800 number and they will send someone out to do it.

It's all good with them sending someone out coldiron, but i don't think they'll send them outta the US. I'll try the graphic display you're talking bout by logging into the systems utility.
