Hey Americans! Wishing you all good luck on Election day. Let's hope some of you go out and vote and make a good choice today and let's hope we don't need the courts to determine the winner.
Not that I would generally care what happens in another country but somehow your problems always become everyone elses problems. So don't screw it up, k?
Thanks.

Thanks, DB...:)
Shove it up your ass, TheKidCof, you immature prick...
My advice would be this:
Vote for the candidate who has best served YOU. If you live in Idaho, Florida Congressman Foley's sexual escapades matter little. If you live in Virginia, why would you care about Nevada Senator Harry Reid's real estate scandal?
If your representative has done a good job for his/her district, do yourself, your neighbors, friends and the representative a favor and vote to keep them in office. Don't switch parties based on something somebody did (or supposedly did) which has no bearing whatsoever on situations in your area. That's a knee-jerk response, a big part of what's wrong with this country in the first place.
And above all, VOTE. The old cliche, 'If you ain't part of the solution, you're part of the problem'....applies here, more than ever.

Thanks DarkBob & 2Step you are both Right On the target. This is a young country with a long way to go still. I get upset when people flip flop just on what the just saw on the news last night instead of have true deep beliefs.
It will provide how stupid they really are.
must be one of those self smarted guys. :)

I voted for NONE OF THE ABOVE

When does England let you guys vote?
On This years ticket wether or not to re-name Canada to America JR. :)
I agree with Mili. Libertarian is the party that most closely represents my views of government. HOWEVER...... and SADLY......A vote for a Libertarian Congressman, Senator, or President at this point is a wasted vote.
This is from the Libertarian web site:
What is a Libertarian?
Libertarians believe that you have the right to live your life as you wish, without the government interfering -- as long as you don’t violate the rights of others. Politically, this means Libertarians favor rolling back the size and cost of government, and eliminating laws that stifle the economy and control people’s personal choices.
Are Libertarians liberal or conservative?
Libertarians are neither. Unlike liberals or conservatives, Libertarians advocate a high degree of both personal and economic liberty. For example, Libertarians agree with conservatives about freedom in economic matters, so we're in favor of lowering taxes, slashing bureaucratic regulation of business, and charitable -- rather than government -- welfare. But Libertarians also agree with liberals on personal tolerance, so we're in favor of people’s right to choose their own personal habits and lifestyles.
In a sense, Libertarians “borrow” from both sides to come up with a logical and consistent whole -- but without the exceptions and broken promises of Republican and Democratic politicians.

ON NO BILL
Canada got too much snow, still in is in the middle of the U.S. between N.Y and Alaska.
Let's make Mexico the next state, plenty of beach fronts, and we already have more Mexicans the Mexico does.

Well, the Dems just flat stomped the Rep's asses. The house is now their domain and most likely the senate will fall as well.
I'm ready for some change myself. What kind of changes we'll see, only time will tell.
Geezus, Nancy Pelosi? :eek::(

I tend to agree with the libertarian philosophy but agree that at this time it would be a wasted vote. I dont know what the fuss is all about on the home front. The economy is the best it has been in years. Unemployment is at an all time low and the stock market is continually rising. I admit I dont like the Iraq situation, but am of the opinion we need to fight the terrorists over there rather than here. I believe that the house and senate are going to be so close that there will be so much infighting on party lines that very little will be accomplished in the next two years. (With the possible exception of raising taxes, giving illegal aliens amnesty and kowtowing to foreign pressures.) But rest easy democrats ---- in just a couple of years you can probably have Hillary for a President that shoud satisfy all of you. Just the meanderings of ---

Ditto squiter, but you forgot about not funding the War on Terror, now these wonderful guys get a free get out of jail card, sure hope they got reformed, or at least move or are invited to Frisco!
Yeah, I won't vote libertarian until I think they have a chance of winning. Not in the near future for sure.
Ok folks.... For those of you not from California, Nancy Pelosi is a nut case and will most likely be the new speaker of the house. She is a classic San Francisco limousine liberal who wants to make laws to regulate EVERYTHING. Did you know it is illegal to own a handgun in San Francisco? They are outlawing styrofoam cups right now. I wonder if possession of less than a gram of styrofoams is a misdemeanor. :)
They have so many giveaway homeless programs, that homeless people from all over the country have migrated there. I work in San Francisco from time to time and have seen the changes over the years. The streets reek from the stench of urine. The homeless beggars accost you for handouts everywhere you go.
I did a job at Charles Schwab last year and had occasion to visit several of the large Schwab office buildings in the financial district. I was shocked by the displays of openly gay people. Now when I say displays, I mean at least 1/2, well more than 1/2 really of the desks and cubes in the areas that I worked in were flying rainbow flags and had everything purple you could imagine all around them. The were decorated shrines to gay lifestyle. Books, magazines, screen savers, shirts, hats, banners, signs... all promoting the gay lifestyle. I was amazed. I don't really care if these folks want to be gay. Live and let live right? I was just amazed that they had concentrated into an area and banned together to promote being and acting gay. I had never seen anything like that before. It's fine with me that they do this, but I wouldn't want to work there with them.
Nancy Pelosi and her type are used to living where this kind of thing is normal everyday life. Now they are in charge of the rest of the country to some respect.
For those on the forum who are good and regular folk Democrats, you really need to be on guard that your party is not hijacked (too late???) and destroyed by extremists. The very far extreme left of your party are now in charge of the house of congress. Keep your eyes and ears in tune with Nancy Pelosi and monitor her every move. She is a master of slipping things by you. A MASTER
The democratic party is no longer the party of my father's generation who fought for equal rights for blacks when segregation was the norm. It has morphed into something else.
IMO
I always like the libertarian I had in school.
Sometimes she even did not make me pay for overdue books as long as I returned them.
I would vote for her is she ran for office.

Geezus, Nancy Pelosi? :eek::(
look On the bright side my fine feathered friend,
If Bush gets a$$a$anated and Cheney is so upset hearing the news he has a heart attach guess who the President would be :)
And yes this one time I did mis-spell on purpose!!!
Dont want the name Bush and "that" word poping up on all those underground computers they have scanning the net for keywords.
Finally! At last, we will have some checks and balances in our federal government for the first time in six years. You know, like our founding fathers had intended in the first place. No longer will both branches of Congress automatically rubber stamp everything that comes down the pipe. Rumsfield has resigned....and wisely so, because he was going to be the number one target for the new House and Senate. Bush is in for a tough next two years. (If he's not impeached within that time:p ) He's not going to get much more of his self serving, corprate government philosophy pushed through. It's too bad that so much damage has already been done. The Iraq war is a war for profit, and at the cost of our honorable fighting men. It's going to be nearly impossible for companies like Halliburton to end up with these no bid, profit plus, contracts in the next couple years. :D
And you know what, if Bush and his cronies hadn't screwed the pooch so bad over the last six years this massive shift in the House and Senate never would have happened. The only guys you Bush supporters have to blame is yourselves, your president and his cronies.
Only now if the dumocrats will STFU and do something, instead of going back to the same old shit.
FACE it, no matter what they say they are once they are in they are all in the same club.
All that partisan shit is a farce anyway.
If not then get ready for gay marriage, baby killers and political correctness running rampant.
I still say they shot the wrong Kenedy,

Your absolutely right fubr. It's time for the new blood to step up and do something. We have financial inequity more now than ever, we need health care overhaul, we need financial responsibility, we need to do away with corprate run government and maybe lobbyist's all together, not to mention something productive in Iraq. If the new blood does nothing to address any of these and other major issues we have going on they're no better than the old blood.

Gentlemen:
Just will mention a few things. Fact is the checks and balances in congress are non existant and will continue to be so. What do we have now? 90 plus percent of both houses are attorneys. Think about that. We have lawyers making laws for lawyers to argue with each other before a judge who is a lawyer. The congress has ursurped more powers from the executive and judicial branches over the last 20 yrs than you can count. One other little tidbit that may not be local knowledge. Senators after one term, congressmen after 2 will draw that yearly salary with the perks and auto raises that goes with them for the rest of their lives. For instance Jim Wright, who screwed Southwest Airlines so bad when he was on retainer for AA airlinew while he was the Speaker of the House, resigned in the seventies just before being indicted for several felonies is still drawing full pay including medical, dental etc. No wonder they are not interested in Social Security. By the way, I am sure you know that Kennedy moved the SS Fund from its protected status into General Fund while he was in office. Guess I have soap boxed enough for one day. Thanks for letting me ramble.
