Jtag etc, 301-013

Good evening. I received everything I need to get rollin here. I can not seem to get this thing working with jkeys well though.
Its a 301-013 receiver so the jtag image doesnt look the same as the guide./
see picture below to see what leads i place the jtag thing on. with the jtag aparatus on these pins is the ONLY way i can get any reading. the data doesnt look right though. the box keys show all FF FF FF FF etc etc.
the ird doesnt look right either.
No other pin combo gets me a reading. and everything is hooked up right.
any help please?

right now im just trying to read from it apparently. or does it r/w right off the bat.
where can i find this vid mod and instructions? i didnt read anything about it. I really appreciate the response

holy crap, i just found the vid mod article.. thats a LOT of work.

i guess i dont have a choice though.

question : i have the option of using a 311 receiver, that doesnt require a card (at least not when you buy the signal) is this an easier option? this 301-013 is a beotch haha.

Haven't had the pleasure of experimenting with a cardless receiver but from what I have read I think the cardless is more of a pain in the ass. Also if the cardless gets hit, then you're screwed because it can't be jtagged.

The vid mod isn't as bad as you think. :D

Dungeon, if vidmodding is over your head or you just don't feel comfortable diddling around inside an IRD, there's lots of folks - quality, trustworthy people here on this site - who can help you out.

My personal suggestion is for you to contact Skinerd, one of the mods here and an expert at modifying receivers. He's quick, cheap and very, very good at what he does.

PM him, or PM me and I'll have him get in touch with you.

Modding a 311 isn't nuclear physics but it's not for the novice, either. As long as you already have the 013 and a 102 card that is useable, stick with it.
