If it is a Vendco let me know the model # and what is wrong with it.
I have a couple of those and they are easy to work on.

It is in fact a vendco. mnf # 01C4755BP model V-475-268.
Everything comes on fine but doesn't get cold. There is very little pressure in the system so it obviously has a leak. Just wondering if anyone has ever put there own refrigerant into one of these things? And I believe in takes R12 (thats what I get from the tag anyways) and that is not available anymore. Not legally anyways.

Yes R-12 it is, You can get a convertor and fill it with the new stuff very easy, get ahold of a vending guy in your area and they will be able to take care of it. you can probably get one and then fill it yourself. Glad everything else works,.

I need to take care of the leak first but I don't want to break the bank on this thing right now. May just have to sit in my garage an look pretty for now.

Call an A/C guy....and if you have a truck go visit him on Saturday morning. He'll have a 'sniffer' and either automotive or residential can check it out.
To convert to R134 is expensive, do a search on "duracool", R12 compatible, inexpensive and offer DIY kits!!
Thing is, designed for automobiles........so the machine has to have the standard connectors.
Anyways not a complete wasted post, anyone with an R12 equipped car can get their A/C going for under $100! ;-)
