I do not map any locals, nor put any zip code in my bin.
You can still put your local tiers in the file, you will just have to locate them in the higher channel numbers.
This should eliminate any blackouts other than the spotbeams.

I think you just need to make your zipcode 00000.

I tried that. It worked for DTV, but not Dish.

That won't work by itself. Think about how you MAP LOCALS on your bin . . .
You do it with the BLACKLOUT STRING. And that is why it is called BLACKOUT string, it provides the information about where to blackout certain programming.

Isn't BlackoutString=7f7f7f7f7f7f7f7f7f7f the one that is supposed to eliminate blackouts? It does not for me.

never seen a fix for this prob...LoL...but when you look at it....you get blacked out if you live near the area ...This is true...so if you want to watch a eastern event ...you could try setting your locals to western....you'd have to have a valid western zip-code and time zone....don't know if this will work...never tryed it...but ......

Yes, the blackout string should show 7F7F7F7F7F7F7F7F7F7F7F7F00000000, this blackout string is also what maps the card to show the local channels in their normal channel numbers.

I have never had a problem with blacked out progams since I use that blackout string and enter 00000 for the zip code.
