what's up with the double posting? Might have better luck looking in a store for this lame system.

i tried all the stores if it wasnt for all the same people buying them all up and reselling them on ebay i prob would have one for my child. this crap happens every year when something new comes out this crap actually gets old. they need to make it where they cant resell the system during the holidays on the net. or for the first batches that come out have it to where the cant be resold whatsoever second hand. or the companys should not allow for there game consoles to be resold on ebay and they should hold ebay liable. alot of young kids get screwd every year because of this crap this shit needs to end. i bet this is the straw that breaks the camels back for ebay watch everyone will have to have a auction license to sell stuff on its site in the future.

I agree about people trying to make money reselling, but where there is a need there is a profit to be made.

My wife bought me a PSP the other day, great for travelling, play games, music, videos and it has wi-fi and can store photos.

I don't think anything can be done about reselling especially with Ebay, if it wasn't Ebay it would be another way.

i agree but it just plain out sucks for the real people who just want to purchase for there own kids. i wont pay more than double what its worth so ill just wait till after christmas to buy one by then the people who didnt make there millions off the console will be returning them to get there moneys back.

Also if you shell out all that money and the game craps out on you, you have no warranty because you have no official receipt.

Also if you shell out all that money and the game craps out on you, you have no warranty because you have no official receipt.
You don't need a reciept.
If you "lost" your reciept, then the warranty goes off the manufacturing date, printed on the serial code label.
No company could refuse a warranty issue jsut because you lost your reciept.. too many folks lose reciepts and the company needs touphold customer support and fullfil their product warranty policies to insure a strong relationship between themselves and their buyers (consumers).

Ya that is fine and dandy, but how about you bought something in December but it was manufactured back in March you just lost 9 months of the 1 year warranty, keep your receipts for warranty purposes. Or you could open the box to check the manufactured date and not all electronics have a manufactured date, tv's, stereos, and dvd players might but my HP printer doesn't Vtech 5.8 ghz phone doesn't and my newly purchased PSP doesn't, my PS2 doesn't and my Coolsat 5000 doesn't, glad I have the receipt for all of them.

There is this neat little code, called a Serial Number.. with this number, a company can tell you exactly when your product was manufactured.
The issue was eBay and the consoles.... these things are only sold in mass on eBay at launch.. any other time, you'll be able to freely buy one at any local store. If someone is buying during launch time, off of eBay, then I think it;s safe to say you aren;t loosing 9 months of warrantly time.

See, the way I look at it is that you are getting mad at the wrong people. It's not the eBay’s fault. The people you should be getting pissed at are the pricks who need to spoil their children by getting them the new product first/by x-mass at any cost. It's not just the rich who do this either. If this demand did not exist then there would be no one selling them on eBay. Kids are spoiled rotten these days. Personally I think buying this or any of these new systems for your kids is spoiling them. Look at the price tag, no one should be spending that much on their child for x-mass. Money like that should be going into a college fund, not video game systems. Kids these days expect it and parents need to show off to other parents through spoiling their children. At best parents should chip in a few $100 and then let their child earn the rest if they want it that bad. Helping around their own house does not cut it either, they should be going out in their neighborhood and socializing. There are plenty of things even the youngest of children can do to help out around their community. Kids these days have no work ethic or concept of the dollar. I swear, America needs another great depression to give everyone a good kick in the ass.

Jeeze parents bitching that they can’t get their child the new $400+ video game system by x-mass, what a tragedy, legislation should be passed to stop this injustice. You wonder why the rest of the world thinks we are a bunch of arrogant assholes. It’s because we are!

Well, first off, I'd just like to say.. You're an idiot.

Now, entertainment has changed alot over the years. While I agree that the cost of these consoles are getting high, you have to look at the overall product and what it;s used for.
These consoles are built to be connected to the internet 24/7. They have weather, news, and other sites of interest, setup to be viewed by these consoles.
Also, the consoles are not just for gaming any longer, ther are intended to be a multimedia center, playing anything from movies, to pics, and of coarse, the games.
Now, the gaming community has grown at a phenominal rate. One thing you have to remember is, these consoles are not just designed for folks here in the US... I know that;s hard to believe, but trust me, the world doesn;t revolve around us.
China and Japan are very densely poplulated countries and their outdoor activites aren;t as plentiful are ours. For the most part, they don;t have backyards or farmfields to tell their kids to go play in. They are industrial countries and very heavy into electronics. This is why the consoles are always released there first, then the US a month or so later.

So, before you go spewing ignorance out of your mouth, try understanding the market. I limit my kids play time on these games, but even though I do that, they still enjoy their time on the consoles.
The Nintendo Wii is actually a very strong family oriented console. There are many games for the family and the interactiveness of the controllers means the kids, or the adults, aren;t just sitting back playing the games, they are actually physially swinging their arms to swing a bat or racket, or to steer a vehicle, or to cast a fishingpole. The technology of todays gaming consoles has excelled to such a level that it;s an entirely new generation in gaming, and I for one love to see it ushered in. The whole family gets together and has gaming nights. Tell me, do you and your family play gameboards together? If they do, then great, but what;s the difference whether it;s a board game or a console, as long as it;s a family event. If they don;t even get together and play boardgames, then your posting is that much more ignorant.

and another thing is i would rather have my kid in the house playing on his computer and game consoles than be outside where crazy shit has been happening to kids lately. i for one would rather have my son where i know hes at all the time than live with a tragedy for the rest of my life. shit i would like to know where this wonderland of a place where you live that you can let your kids roam free with no worries, because if there is i would like to move me and my son there. you might think game consoles are stupid but there not they keep kids off the street where shit can happen. i know where my kid is 24/7 and if he wants a new game console so then be it, itll give me piece and mind that he will be home on the sofe playing video games

the only thing you gotta worry about here is outsiders like you... and game playing freaks...

you and your ole buddy Budreaux is getting a little bent out of shape about this...

it seems like to me that you guys can't take a man's OPINION and that you must feel like you need to rant about it because deep down inside you have just realized that you paid $600 for a gaming console.... hurts don't it...

and by the way if you don't think i'm QUALIFIED to speak of laptop computers and the such... then why don't you just post your IP addresss... all five of them.... unless of course you share one, which i doubt you know how to do. you guys think that your firewalls are god, huh?

YOUR STATEMENTS MAKE NO SENSE AT ALL

you think that the allmighty gaming console keeps your kids off the streets..

NO
YOU DO!

if you're kids roam the fucking streets then its YOUR PROBLEM as a parent. YOU are the one that supposed to keep them in"CHECK".

hey if you like you're purchase, then i'm happy for ya...

if you're pissed off at my opinions then GREAT, i love it...

LOL.. you are what is commonly called a "forum troll", in ithat you leark around looking for shit to stir up.
You;ve taken a simple topic and now turned it into a silly threat of attempting to hack.
I say attempt because you are asking for the info to do it.. hey, here's my IP address, while I'm at it, what time do you intend to do it, so I can drop all my securities...
A real hacker does his homework and learns this info on his own.... goodluck on learning how. I'll give ya a hint.. start with the email address.

2ndly, You don't have kids, as you stated yet you think you can judge how folks raise, monitor theirs... as I said previously, you are posting on a topic you are not qualified to post on....

3rdly.... I had no problem dropping $600 on a PS3.. in fact, the entire thing is dissaembled at my worktable, working with other groups on how to apply modchips.... it;s a hobby.. alot like Sat Hacking...... so, again, get educated on topics that you post on, cause you just look like an uneducated idiot when you post about things you have no idea of....like most forum trolls I know. ;)

its code that "demonstrates" how a "Trojan" could bind to a port and accept connections by piggybacking on the inherent "trust " of sessmgr.exe which in turn bypasses firewalls..

it gets past your XP service pack 2 Firewalled windows platform... so go ahead and turn up the security buddy
LOL.... I think it;s mating season in loserville and this is your mating ritual.
You think anyone that spends any serious amount of time involved in this hobby is ignorant of internet security?
That;s decent code, but also easily detectable.
One last thing.... try doing it to a Linux setup... :p

Well, there is no need for me to exxplain why it won;t work, I mean, YOU'RE the expert, rememer?.. you told me to fear your skills.
So assuming you did manage to get it to work, I'm curious how you would fullfill your little threat and get it on my rig.. I mean besides me ablidging your request to just GIVE you my info. I mean, seriously, what kind of skills are they to fear if I have to give you this info.... please... enlighten me on your tactics to infect my rig with your skills.... I'm really excited to hear about it. :D

And what if I'm runnning a virtual partition on my linux that is emulating a Windows OS.... I mean, seriously, if you are gonna deal with us commoners, you should think about issues like this before you tell us to fear something.. you may create such mass histeria with threats like that.. I know I was really worried about it at first.

wow you must have figured out how to use your Virtual Partition Manager or something of that nature...

So what, what if you are... i don't CARE, maybe i'm running redhat on my xp's virtual machine... you think nobody else knows of this or something?

Be aware that Microsoft has made it difficult to share files between the host XP system and the Virtual PC Linux system if you do decide to do that.

i'm impressed...
this guy must be some l33t h4x0r or something.... lol

sounds like you know a little bit there buddy, i'll give ya some credit there

I took a College class in high school where we each used VMWare some. Each computer ran Windows XP Professional and VMWare was used to run Red Hat Linux 7.3 in a virtual machine on the same computer. Red Hat 7.3 could then be run in a window under Windows XP. We could jump back and forth between each in a couple of seconds. Linux could also be run full screen under Windows XP.

I liked it enough that I got a student version of VMWare Workstation to use on my computer at home. I have the Linux version of VMWare 4.0.5 instead of the Windows version. On my computer Linux is my main operating sytem which I boot up first. I can then run Windows in a window under Linux. With the Linux version, configuring it to share USB devices between both operating systems is somewhat complicated and difficult. I believe that it is easier to share printers with the Windows XP version.

VMWare has a special feature for sharing folders between each operating system. It is an easy to use feature. There are also other ways to exchange information. Both operating systems can be given their own useable IP address. A folder can then be shared using Samba. Instead of using Samba I have also used sftp to transfer files with ftp commands.

i think is funny as hell that you guys keep posting back, as long as you do so, i will too.... hehehe

and another thing is i would rather have my kid in the house playing on his computer and game consoles than be outside where crazy shit has been happening to kids lately. i for one would rather have my son where i know hes at all the time than live with a tragedy for the rest of my life. shit i would like to know where this wonderland of a place where you live that you can let your kids roam free with no worries, because if there is i would like to move me and my son there. you might think game consoles are stupid but there not they keep kids off the street where shit can happen. i know where my kid is 24/7 and if he wants a new game console so then be it, itll give me piece and mind that he will be home on the sofe playing video games

great... excellent..
i like your point of view, and your strong decision of turning your son into a couch potatoes like you quote in you later message.. you where telling someone that they are a couch potatoes.. i myself dont have too much time to answer this stuff. but you seen to be a very good couch potato. because from what i can see you are always there to answer every question they post against you. and it inst just one day. you are there everyday and always. If there are people who would never buy a $600 console for their kids.. let then be, if you want to buy the console. Also i recommend then to let you do what ever you wanna do. By myself i dont have a problem buying a $600 usd console to my kids.. but they won the money, by doing stuff in the house and out of the house. They do the cleaning of the house, they help the mother cook, they do all kind of stuff in the house. I spoil my kids sometimes, and sometimes i dont. i keep the balance. but i take then out to play arround, to do physsical activities, and they ask me to go out and play with then most of the time instead of staying in the house 24/7 playing a console, because i take the time to go out and play with my kids. I'm never lazy to go out with my kids, i dont preffer to put then in from of a tv and let then play till they colapse because i dont want to go out.

i have 2 kids one 10, and the other is 7..

you don't know me... fear my knowledge..
So, you're a computer geek....that don't impress me much.

Budreaux, you and I both remember the time when I'd have an afternoon of fun wrestlin' with this guy....ahh, the good ol' days:)

I'll leave this one in your hands, Bud. And I'll expound on YMNK's comment as to the 'little guy in the corner who may beat your ass'. Remember this, too, pal - I've seen a few 6th-degree Black Belts take it in the shorts from a good old-fashioned street fighter.
You'd do well to try to just get along here instead of trying to impress everyone with your talents by means of threats and promises of doom and mayhem.

If you're gonna jet set, you need a jet - and I'm not even sure your Piper Cub is capable of getting off the ground. Have a nice day.;)
