So you're saying that you paid him the $400? :)
The same type of scam went around here about 2 years ago. They sold these gigantic speakers new in boxes out of the back of vans. They had all kinds of sale ads and catalog pages to show they were worth $1800 each, but he was selling them for $250 each. I know a guy who bought two and when he hooked them up, they sounded like crap. We took them apart and found that they were the cheapest pieces of crap you could imagine. They were obviously made for scamming. The boxes and speakers themselves looked pretty convincing.
Sorry you got took bud, and thanks for the warning to others.

These guys have been doing this in BC as well. Don't know if they are the same ones but they were working out of a minivan here. Claimed they had extra speakers in a shipment or something.

thats ok,charlie and bev say the same about sat pirates that approach their undercover people offering to program their cards and other things only they dont watch much tv and arent as illiterate as you are
i heard they are contemplating using "stick or bat to beat the sat stealing bitches" but decided it was "best to call the police so they can bring these people down so they can stop the scam".......
your thread reminds me of a guy...i think he was also Canadian, who used his own car to shoplift and in the middle of the night at his home, his car got stolen and he reported it stolen, naturally, and ranted that he wanted the thief locked up for a long time and how he needed his car and blahblahblah.....until they found it abandoned, the trunk pried on but never opened and when they did open it,they found merchandise with tags still on them and proved thru video tape that the owner was guilty of shoplifting
moral of this story, two wrongs dont make a right!
now in the USA....if you buy something you even remotely suspect is hot aka stolen...like a $5k anything for $400,that is called knowingly receiving stolen property..pawnshop owners used to get pinched with this charge all the time
but thanks for the warning about another Canadian thief, there's practically one under every rock these days ...eh?
Happy Holidays!
