i have a 501 and 301. the 501 stopped giving me a signal after about 4 hours of running it, and so i redid some flashes and wasted a ton of time. i did switch checks with the 501, and kept getting weird resluts, missing sats, and wrong switch dectected. the 301 kept giving me good results, no problems. i can't figure out y this happened and y i keep getting all these weird switch results. the 501 in virgin mode was all good. no signal problems at all. then updated to current s/w, and it messed up. i tried my 301, got a good read, so i figure it can't be the switch. well, with nothing left to lose, i tried this unit on another tv, with a seperate feed. 501 came up roses. no signal issues with updated s/w. so its either the switch, or the cable. but y does it read ok on the 301, but not on the 501? does the 501 need more power in the feed?(my cable is 2 pieces attached together) just trying to figure this out. never seen this before. i will try a new cable tomorrow, if not that, then i will get a new switch. anyone have any ideas on this?
