Jtag problem, Please help

I got a 2800 and atmega 128. I just received my first Jtag and tried to use it. First problem is that after i erase SA5 and reconnect my receiver back, it takes forever to update it. the little red light is just blinking. i been waiting for 1 hour, still doing the same thing. then i open jkeys again, it has not been updated yet.
Second problem is that i can't do a full erase. I download some already made for 2800 tsop files and try to write on my tsop. everytime when i tried to do a full erase it appears "Flash timeout (DQ5 set)" I went ahead to write the new program on, it did not change.
Can someone help me out here?

before jtaging ALWAYS BACKTSOP UP BEFORE YOU ERASE check for a good ground,cheack the battries

ok, i tried it many, many times, and for once i erased my flash. here comes another problem. then i tried to write the new flash in every time when i do that it, there is an error: Error programming flash at offset 0x700f8002c
I don't know what to do here.

Sounds like batteries on that one and a ground on the first one.
Sometimes erasing as-05 does not work like it used or at least as good as it once did.
Flash the whole thing with a current or wait is all you can do besides checking all those wires
