need advice

i am thinking of geting one of milis DP522/DP625 dual tunner with extrnal rom 103 so if the chip was removed how would this work there is a card slot for the card? can this unit be jtaged? has eny one had eny problems with this unit i dont now eny onewith this unit so i am in the dark he with this one thanks for eny info.

No jtagging possible yet, although I expect at some point there will be for these internal cam models. If the BGA (on board rom chip) has been removed and mounted on a card, then the card slot has been wired in and you just use the BGA card exactly like a normal rom card. The reason this is such a good way to do it is because if they do hit the receiver and turn it location ID 00000001, you still have the rom on a card and you can reprogram it for use in most any other non-BGA receiver. The receiver with the BGA chip on a wafer will work just like the BGA was still mounted internally. But if they do kill the receiver, you'll still have the card. This is by far the most logical way to do these mods. Even if they never figure out a way to jtag these internal cam models, you'll still have the rom and a simple reprogramming will have you back in business with a different receiver.
