does this mean it needs three different power sources?
1 = 24 vdc
2 = 12 vdc.
got it from here if interested LPAM Handbook: hxxp://www.lpam.info/index.php?page=handbooksupossed to be a 10 watt am transmitter

I read the hand book and looked over the schematics and this is what I understand from it. For the 10 watt AM Transmitter you will need a 24V 2A power supply to feed the final stage of the transmitter. You can also connect a 12V IC regulator to the 24V power supply to convert the 24V to 12V, this will feed your two early stages of the Transmitter. From what I understand, the final stage will pull around 1A , depending on the load (not to sure about this). So, if you got a 24V power supply and a couple of 12V IC regulators, you will be good to go. Another thing you could use for the 12V power is get a couple of 12V transformers that plug into the wall, all kinds of devices use them, tape players, cell phones, answering machine, ect. Just make sure the amps are around 1Amp. This project looks really cool, I wish I had the time to play with it. Goodluck!

Thanks, Actually it is a friends of mine son's project.
I guess he figures he want to do this type stuff instead of going out and getting aides or smoking dope.
I figured I would try to help the guy out, It is hard out there for young people these days around where I am.
It is for his home made radio station. He has it on his computer and already has it going on one of those amp you buy I think at rat shack. He wants to build this one :) I see a future tester lol
I will forward the post to him and let you know his results and thanks again

That kid is really getting into a cool hobby! I think your right, I see a future tester. I have always loved to tinker with electronics and finally got a degree in it a few years back. Now I wish I could learn to code...then I would be set! LOL...let me know if he has any other questions and I will try to help. :cool:
