This is a com port issue or a program issue, nothing to do with loader, it would say "unable to find active atmel" if it was a loader issue. yours is not getting access to com port to see if atmel is there. follow Ohms suggestion and read and try suggestions with that thread. If I have left com port open in another program and try to use xp atmel. I get a error like that, sometimes I have to reboot to get rid of it. been along time since I seen it though.

Crazy,
I have the same exact issue. 'Cannot find Dynamic Device'
However, I have a second white nexus that I was able to test with that is a known good. It works just fine on the com port.
So, it has to be an issue with the programmer.
I have tried the bad programmer on two different computers with the same results.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In reading through some of the posts, I finally came across one where the pot was set too low.
I had noticed on this Nexus that the red power light seemed to be dimmer then normal.
As soon as I moved the pot slightly the light brightened up, and it took the flash.
Hope this helps some others.
