View Full Version : Atmega 18mhz 0r 18.432mhz ?
What is the difference between a Atmega128 Card 18.432 MHZ and a Atmega128 Card 18.000 MHZ? I'm thinking of giving this a try. I also see theres a 8 pin or 16, what are these? All my 102's are looped or can not get them to unluck. Looking for a alternative source for testing but have NEVER tried anything but plastic so this is a whole new can of worms for me. What would you recommend?

internal or external cemu. mili has them here or cancom has the internal. both great to buy from.
is there a way to tell on the chip or does it require diff s/w? I have one with no caps on it and it has the 18.4 on the crystal but can't get it to werk... all others with 18.000 crystal on them are all go.... or can I just change the crystal?

Just to stick my $.02 in here, I have a 6000 and it requires the 18.4 xtl, so I changed mine, and now it works perfectly. Before that I was getting the "not inserted correctly" nag.
In short, YES, you can change the chrystal.

So If I'm gonna buy, I should buy the 18.4 mhz? I have a JVC 6000 and I think its a dvr510
2 more questions. 1st is what is the difference between I think it is 8 pin or 16 pin cards? Second is where is a good place to buy?

I hate to burst your bubble, wtp, but B*v is down for Atmega (or so I have read) till there is a fix on the Map 57. Will that make a differance to your thinking? I have an Atmega 10 pin in my 6000 (on dn), and it is working so beautifully. The one thing I am MOST afraid of ... it has been so long since I had to do anything with it, I may have forgotten HOW to do anything to it (just kidding).

Thanks Phottoman, I think I might place a order once I find a good reliable place to buy. Thanks again

I just looked on eBay, and found several around $35. That was the card and loader. Enjoy it, they are a HOOT.

*cough*scammer*cough* stay away, another guy using the name nascar and a number after is has been scamming people. Stay away far far away. Only a scammer would offer to sell something as their first post.
Thats what I was thinking.
Ok, just check my tracking # and my atmega's will be here tomorrow. Is there a how to for these? Whats all needed to get them up and going? Totally new to atmega so need alittle push in the right direction.
I ordered these thursday afternoon and they were delivered by 10:30am monday. Now that was super fast shipping and they work great. Thanks Dooda
